The net worth of a touchdown has gone down significantly.

This is the thread. Offenses have become fast as shite.

Remember when going up 7 in the last two minutes was a big fricking deal?

Now going up 7 with even one minute means you probably have to score again. It's crazy how this game is evolving and defense is being shot down .

Maybe introduce some kind of score worth say 11 points?

The rules favor the offense more than ever.

The best teams play offense and defense. Georgia was built on defense. Michigan. Clemson. Alabama. Dominant defense are few and far between now, yes, but those teams had defenses that made plays when they had to.

Defense can't be what it used to be though. They can't dominate a game anymore unless the opposing offense is just bad.

UGA Kentucky for example.

Kentucky offense sucked arse. It wasn't that UGA has a stout arse defense. They scored less on Carolina.

Well, I'm sure it must seem that way for teams with no defense.

Oh please, even good defenses drop 40 on good defenses these days. Especially among the top teams.

LSUs defense is putrid but that doesn't change what's happening.

Georgia hasn’t allowed a touchdown. That’s a stout defense.

Alabama against USF stepped up when Milroe and the line struggled.

I see the point for the sport as a whole but when it comes to championship contenders in the conference, lack of defense hasn’t been problem so far (Georgia, Texas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee).

I might be in the minority that feels the running clock has taken the wind of a lot of possible comeback wins. If you’re a running team, you can really bleed out the clock basically the entire game.

I'm curious to see these numbers when SEC play starts.

This league has a number of good QBs right now.

Beck, Nuss, Milroe, Ewers, etc..

None of the defenses in question have been tested .

I know the numbers will change but through three games many teams in conference have shown that defense can still win games and you don’t have to win 45-35.

It seems teams that have lacked defense this year feel differently though.

Kentucky and Georgia would disagree.

Your defense is arse.

I remember the good ole days when the entire game had college clock rules and not just the last two minutes of the half, and they didn't force 700 commercials on your during a game. You young bucks don't know anything about that.
