No. Although in adjoining Letcher County the sheriff shot a judge. No sex involved.

Harlan was the center of a strike in the 1930’s pitting the union against the mine owners.

Very bloody time. The strike in the 1970’s documented in Harlan County USA was bad but not as bloody.

Never heard of either one of these "famous counties" until today.

Might not be the most famous, but Walker County, AL is a top 3 infamous. IYKYK.
