This has to be the least productive work week in the history of the Southeast.

Here's some more goodness, not from BOL though:
quote:

The FBI has been investigating Colonial Bank and Louder for a number
of possible violations in the financial market crash which are
unrelated to AU. Part of the investigation involved gambling fraud
between McGregor and Colonial Bank. Something called the Rico Stature
allowed the justice department to set up wiretaps on Colonial Bank.
On the wiretaps the FBI found major AU recruiting infractions involving
Louder, McGregor, Dye, Trooper, boosters and others.
Here’s what they say the FBI has on tape and can prove AU did:

• The people above are on tape explaining who they paid and how they did it.
• It involves many AU players
• Providing unmarked Colonial Bank ATM cards to players to withdraw
money from secret accounts.
• Giving “slot machine cards” to the players, which now involves the
Alabama Gaming Commission.
• Provided improper loans to some of the families in our last and
current recruiting class.
• The NCAA “strongly” recommended that AU sit Cam for GA. game because
of the mounting evidence.
• President Grogue wanted to sit Cam but was overruled by Louder and
the Board of Trustees.
• Coach Chizik knows none of this and has been lied to by Jacobs.
• The people named above know the S%#& is going to hit the fan “big
time” and have decided “we’re going down” so lets win the title even
if they take it away later.
• Slive knew about this early and sat on the information and is also
in the “crosshairs” of the FBI..
• The corruption is so deep at the highest level (trustees) that AU
will be evicted from kicked out of the SEC.
• This will be revealed by the end of the week.

I cannot attest to the validity of the above other than to say, I'm hearing this from a lot of different people about the tapes, the money and the players. It would certainly go right along with what W&L's OP was about.

The stuff about Slive I just don't know. I've always been of the opinion that he had integrity and was honest. This looks bad though and we'll have to see how this is going to turn out. It will be hard for him to come out of this unscathed.

As for Gogue I don't know but it's not the first time I've heard that Gogue didn't want Cam to play.

Obviously the whole "kicked out of the SEC" stuff is just speculation. If the above is true, I expect Auburn University will suffer and not just the football team.

Here's what will happen:

- Cam will be declared ineligible prior to the Iron Bowl.
- Auburn will either forfeit or vacate wins for this year.
- No further information against Auburn will come out for a while. Most Auburn fans will get comfortable and blame Cecil Newton. They will put their heads back in the sand and claim that all of the other stuff was just rumors and speculation. They will say, "I told you so" more than you'll hear "Julio dominated Peterson" for the rest of the season and half of next year.

- After the FBI finishes locking up the majority of Auburn's money supply in prison, news will slowly start to trickle again about this situation.

- Far after this season is over, the NCAA will finally announce Auburn's punishments. The punishments will not be nearly as bad as we think. And, they won't be nearly as good as Auburn fans think. They'll be somewhere in the middle. Why? Because if they are not, it will kill Auburn's program SMU style.

So, sit back and relax. Auburn won't be winning anything this year. But, they also won't be getting the hammer anytime soon.

Go back to work. This story isn't dying any time soon.

After this douchebag wasn't declared ineligible against Georgia I gave up on trying to follow this story. If he is declared ineligible before the Iron Bowl, well.. . I just want these bitches out of the NC picture.

Oh, and I should get a certificate for not only reading this entire thread on my blackberry at work, but for getting my boss to read it last night also.

And, Zach Mettenberger commits to LSU this weekend.

What would you consider "punishments will not be nearly as bas we think" If you mean SMU, then I would tend to agree. However, I could easily see this being as bad as USC's recent sanctions (30 schollies and 2 year bowl ban). This has lack of institution control written all over it if even some of this is true.

When Firebomb has the dean of Alabamas law school on his show to talk about the FBI, and Auburn football and you make PTI and a lead story on TMZ and sports center all at the same time. Not a good week for the fake tiger.

As I said week or so ago, its the tapes the tapes the tapes.

Not as bad as SMU. Equal to or worse than USC. I think the NCAA and SEC will attempt to "save" Auburn by putting the majority of the blame on the government corruption that the FBI is investigating now. And, if true, they should. If Auburn could some how get out from the control of these "thugs", they should be given the chance to run a clean program before being completely destroyed.

Can all of you loser LSU fans get rid of the Alabama logo by your name? They don't need our support.

Chicken, can we get an FBI logo for our favorite team?

Maybe this (smaller of course):
