That's too bad. This is the main reason I came here. Tried making my 2 cents worth, keep plugging along. You know the lay of the land better than I...any chance of return to normalcy.? What if some other team rises up beside LSU or UA, would this matter?

No worries. I think only half are geared back up for it this year. I'm not sure if I'm doin NFL yet or not. Time is harder to come by nowadays.

Auburn rose up and Newtongate brought out many a tard. That was about the time I decided to dedicate a good chunk of my time to more productive things.

Jackson had a more diverse skillset and yielded better results (see the 1.4 yards more per carry he had over their entire careers).
Williams was 5-11, 217
Bo was 6-1, 222
I know Jackson was bigger but I think Williams played the position better. Then again Cadillac was more of a speed back and Bo was a power back. I would still take Cadillac over Jackson.

Don't undersell Jackson's speed. He was incredibly agile.

Just to show how dumb alahunter and his stats are...
Herschel's best statistical year
1981 385 1,891 4.9 47 18 14 84 2
Bo's best statisical year
1985 278 1786 6.4 17 4 73 18.3 0
Garrison Hearst's best statistical year
1992 228 1547 6.8 75 19 22 324 2
OJ Simpson's best statistical year
1968 355 1709 4.8 18 126 7.0 0
Kenny Irons 2005 rushing stats despite not even being a full time starter for the first four games
256 1293 13
So based on stats, we can conclude Garrison Hearst and Kenny Irons are as good OJ Simpson, Bo Jackson, and Herschel Walker. Agree?
In reality, alahunter go back to your trailer and stfu.

Was this it?

It certainly contributed. The Arkansas fanbase as a whole also contributed their fair share of suckage.

I don't see it returning to the way it was. Too many folks, and honestly, the avg age has dropped too low. Back in 08, I think the median age in here was mid 30's. I think it's about 10 yrs younger now, and there's alot younger than that.

Don't think it will. It will get a bit better as the season starts, and there is more to talk about, but I have a feeling, game threads will suck like they have the last 2 yrs though. I'll be avoiding those for the most part.
Probably the best thing is to find and realize who can set aside the homerism and immaturity when there's something to actually talk about. I disagree with Ross at times, and NorthGwinnettTiger, but I can talk football with them and get along with them, because they don't feel like their fandom defines their person. Same with a few others.. GoBigOrange, CNB.. I think we've had a good addition of a few Mizzou and a few Aggies that will turn out decent when the season starts.

Well yes but I think that is genetic. I'm not going to fuss at a kid with cerebral palsy for spilling his milk.

I think dawg4life is only 14.

Put your notebooks away, gumps. I saw Bo Jackson play. He didn't have 300 lb linemen and a stable of running backs to set him up. Fast, hard, fearless. He was hands down the best.

Do you think you could be biased?

That would explain a lot.

Perhaps best.

Bo Jackson was not only a great running back, he is a great person.
However, I would like to point out the 1986 Cotton Bowl...A&M 36 Auburn 16.
Bo knows the Wrecking Crew...especially on 1st and goal.

Got to the thread late, but just to reiterate what Alahunter said this sums it up best when regarding Bo Jackson.
quote:
He was a very good back, no doubt. But he was a better athlete. Nobody was a better all around athlete, imo. But there's been quite a few RB's, better than him in the strict sense of the position. Alot of Au fans will argue it, but they can't make an argument based on production and facts. Just on what they've been told, as most never saw him play, and those that did, remember him for more than he actually did.

Which play was that where it was a toss right sweep, he stopped and spun left in the blink of an eye. It was pretty famous, just don't remember which. May have been when he was in NFL.
