For all of the rivalry threads created about Bo Jackson vs Hershel Walker and the countless frivolous arguments about who's better, this thread is not about that. I want to compare Bo's legacy to that of his Auburn counterparts.

I want to compare Bo Jackson's stats to that of other Auburn running backs. It seems as many great running backs as Auburn has had in their history, Bo seems to get all the accolades as the greatest ever. I want to challenge the real from the fictional.

Is Bo Jackson remembered because of what he did in an Auburn uniform or consequently was it the "Bo Knows" Commercials/sports marketing and his roll in multiple professional sports. Further more was Bo Jackson the greatest running back to wear the Auburn Jersey?

Bo Jackson:
1985 Heisman Trophy
1985 Walter Camp Award
1985 UPI Player of the Year
1985 Chic Harley Award
2× All-American (1983, 1985)

Carnell "Cadillac" Williams: Cadillac has one more career touch downs than Bo and shared several snaps with another great running back Ronnie Brown.

While his Auburn fame comes deservedly from what he did as a running back, it equally comes from how he did it. When he was on the field, he was a man among boys.

Ask Deion Sanders about that

You don't rack up high YPC in a wishbone. Stats aren't everything.

Bo is the greatest athlete to come through the SEC. But there's been better RB's and football players.

All I can say is I'm glad I was never between Bo and were he wanted to be.

This isn't a list of biggest busts, bro.

Mario wasn't that bad. He played pretty well that I can remember?

Who would you rather have as your RB in Tecmo, fricking Bo.

I was a student when Bo Jackson was playing at Auburn.

And I've been a season ticket holder ever since.

Trust me... Bo Jackson hasn't been matched since his day. He was and is a legend... and deservedly so.

Bo had his play. But I always preferred Chicago or San Fran.

That's because fumbles don't show up on your highlight film. We called him Fumblin' Fannin for a reason

There has been arguably ONE better RB.... ONE.

And (again) that is arguable.

Please.

He got the Heisman as a career award. Didn't deserve it the year he got it.

Trent was arguably better.

Bo had 278 carries for 1786 yds and 17 TD's his Heisman yr.
Trent had 283 carries for 1679 yds and 21 TD's his Jr yr. 4 more TD's in only 5 more carries. TD's wins games. Trent had over 2000 yds total offense that year. Adding in Bo's other touches, he didn't even reach 1900 yds.

Bo was one of the greatest athletes in college. But there's been better RB's.

So how does this parlay into your defense argument earlier?

So first Mark was better and now Trent is better?
