I feel like UA has played more than 10 FCS teams.
It feels like basically 1 per year before Auburn every year since forever.
Surely, it wasn't CNS's doing.
Not quite forever. Just since the SEC ruled that all teams must play the week before the SECCG. Opening up the next to last week for an OOC game. And FCS is about all that is available to come that week.
In 2016. for example, 100 of the 115 (128 less the 13 SEC teams) remaining FBS teams were playing conference games that week and the other 15 wouldn't have come to Tuscaloosa even if they were available. If you are playing on the next to last week and needing two wins to become Bowl eligible, the last place you want your team is in Tuscaloosa, Alabama playing Bama.
And you are correct about more than 10. Bama is 13-0 since 1978 (his starting point) in games against 1AA/FCS teams.

There was no tie. Kentucky is 18-0 against 1AA/FCS teams since 1978.

So? He lost to UAB his first year coaching for LSU.

Both were pretty embarrasing :)

There's no way we've only played 10 FCS/I-AA teams. We play one almost every season.
I guess it wasn't "a thing" though until the move to 12 games a season from 11

Nick Saban lost the team with the LSU game. He loved you corndogs too much and the players saw/sensed that. They couldn't have beat much of anyone through the end of the season.

These stats are only up to 2013, so that's why the numbers seem slightly screwy. I added that note into the original.

So glad they did this. That extra one game against an FCS team in November is so awesome.

No loss can compare to Croom losing to freaking Maine. Every drive to the redzone saw penalties and turnovers. I was so embarrassed that I almost claimed to be an Ole Miss fan after that.

Just out of curiosity, how did you choose the order in which you would list the teams? Seems as random as frick...

I'm just glad Mizzou never scheduled North Dakota State...they scheduled just about everyone else all around Mizzou and has won 6 in 7 years (didn't play one in 2015):
2010: kU 6-3 (hahaha)
2011: Minnesota
2012: Colorado State
2013: KState
2014: Iowa State
