My ideal cfb world
FBS the old non p5 schools create own playoff 16 teams. The yearly winner gets added to the sec/big 10 for 1 year only and then return to the fbs.
The big boys go to 12 game regular season (all conference play) so no texas-ohio state reg season games. Play 16 team national tournament all home and away except natty. eliminate all non playoff bowl games they're meaningless. Straight seed but return to some form of bcs to eliminate committee bias.

Mine would be to tie a group conference to each power conference ( i.e. mac to Big 10, Sunbelt to SEC, etc) and do promotion/relegation. Let's make even the bottom of the conference exciting through the entire season

Why would somebody want to be promoted with no chance of staying?

The ideal CFB world has conferences that make regional sense.

Damn, Auburn would never have a winning record without out of conference games.
