there's nothing historic about the "battle of the boot"; it is fairly new and was contrived by marketers to make the series a "rivalry". it hasn't worked well as LSU still doesn't consider r-Kansas as a rivalry (even tho y'all hate our guts and do consider us a rival).

Texas is our rival. A&M, SMU (pre-death penalty), and TCU after them.
