Who are the two guys in the gif? I see that pop up from time to time
on the left: AU DC Brian Van Gorder, just weeks away from earning the title of Former AU DC

on the right: AU beat writer Phillp Marshall, who penned the article in the OP

Editor’s Note: the gif was from a press conference almost exactly 10 years ago - here’s what the guy on the right looks like now:

This issue isn't as much about Auburn as it is an attack on the press and site writers who ignore logic. The old school writers use to be loyal to individuals and the school, now they are only loyal to themselves and try to convince their readers they are in the know.
Now every single word of this is truth!

Auburn beat writers were given their taking points and marching orders Monday. Now they are framing the narrative and slowly getting the message out to the masses. Lol

It will not be an extensive list. Many believe the decision is almost done.

Phillip is protecting and getting information from someone not directly tied to the University from a money and official standpoint. Many think it is still Steele after how he handled the opening two years ago.

Sounds like auburn dodged a bullet on venables napier and Clark
As far as nix
He is feasting on bad pac 12 defenses
Auburn would have been just as bad with nix at qb

Truth is Freeze was really the popular choice with some of those PTB. He would have kept AU above water. Freeze was also the choice this February if Harsin was fired after his investigation.

Sure did.

That is some wacky Auburn math. Losses with interest or something.

In other words, the list of potential coaches is extensive and they're far away from making any decisions at this point.

Great info IP! Just because it's the exact opposite of what you say doesn't mean we can't bank on it all the same

You don't think a coach needs the support of boosters????

The funniest thing was Malzahn telling them who not to hire AFTER he'd been fired.

This was bizarre.

Any behind the scenes details or explanation?

This is pretty much what I have heard from early on to now. The plan, to my understanding, was to bump Steele up to head coach. It wouldn’t have been expensive and the big money liked him. They would give him a chance and if it didn’t work out, they weren’t put a bundle. Greene stepped in and fricked it all up and stuck his neck out with Harsin.

It was supposed to be a personal thing. Not anything to do with Harsin.
