How is anyone supposed to take this article seriously when the guy can’t even do simple math?

We all enjoy taking a poke at Irons Puppet from time to time, and the Auburn Establishment is a dysfunctional mess. I don’t believe a single word that from that old queen Philip Marshall’s finger tips. He is the most uninformed AU beat writer they have.

One interesting tidbit about that story which to me is a big telling point about success as head coach… Muschamp telling Napier about needing support of 5 people.

These Saban disciples have this thing about support among higher ups. That’s completely overrated which is why most of them aren’t very successful. Heupel had the same amount of support of Pruitt but Heupel made it work and Pruitt didn’t.

If a coach is saying we need the backing of X before I take the job, chances are they aren’t gonna turn out. If your comfortable you know what you’re doing, why do you need some kind of reassurance from others?

You Cult members like to poke at me from time to time, because I tell you the truth and it pisses you off. This issue isn't as much about Auburn as it is an attack on the press and site writers who ignore logic. The old school writers use to be loyal to individuals and the school, now they are only loyal to themselves and try to convince their readers they are in the know.

He had talked to two-time former defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, who told him Auburn was a place that could win championships but that he would need the support of five specific people.

For those of us not super clued in on Auburn's internal workings, best guesses of who these 5 are?

Muschamp knows 1st hand how Auburn operates and who had to be backing things though. Anyone remember Napier stating publicly that the “alignment” wasn’t right after he interviewed? He went right back to his job and waited till he got something that felt right.

Agent Muschamp destroyed your chance at Napier.

Muschamp is now clueless who has money and control at AU now. That has changed a lot the last 5 years. Everyone use to think it is Rane, Harbert and Lowder. That has changed and AU has some very big money people who remain in the shadows. In 5 more years it will change even more. Tech money is the driving force at AU now.

TL/DR version: AU is fricked up, AD Greene fricked it up more, and President Gogue fricked it up even more.

And now you've hired a guy with a tranny for a kid and was a huge disappointment at MSU.

Good luck.

Dude with the pornstache is Brian VanGorder, Chiz's last DC at Auburn. I assume the other dude is some drunk guy photo bombing a press conference.

Brian “the ‘Stache” Van Gorder and Philip “Old Queen” Marshal.

Oh yeah cause Muschamp definitely knows how to be a successful coach. Anybody that’s leaning on him for advice is in trouble.

I wasn't wrong and it isn't a secret with those at Auburn. This story sounds like it was written by a HS newspaper writer. The fact that someone who claims to know everything Auburn is just now coming out with this story should tell you everything about his logic.
