The future of the SEC is in UGA's and UF's hands

Simple reason why Tex/OU might not be good for the SEC: it might be the end of the SEC.
If everything is due to the "how much can we get from the networks", seems like a possibility that the Super SEC conference will eventually become the Super National conference.
Imagine USC, Michigan, etc. joining with Texas, Georgia, Florida, etc. to play a national schedule with even bigger TV money.
Mississippi St., Vandy, etc. might be huge benefactors of being in the SEC now, but the trend isn't their friend.
UGA/UF loyalty to the SEC would prevent a national conference from breaking up the SEC. If UGA/UF leave, some others would join them while others would become what Kansas, Ok St, Baylor, etc. are today.

News flash: We're already at the doorstep of the end of college football and amateur sports in general. Big, gigantic changes are coming.
Our league can either be the head or the tail. We can pick up Texas and Oklahoma now or we can settle for Baylor and TCU after the ACC and the Big 10 take their picks.
Which do you prefer?

It depends what you consider "our league".
I think you meant to say, "our school"
Georgia would possibly benefit from a super national conference. But the SEC would no longer exist or would become a minor conference.
Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC might not be "ahead of the curve" just the next step to the ultimate end.
Does the SEC really care if Texas is in the Big 12, ACC, or the Big Ten?
You'd think Texas/OU might increase SEC revenue but does Texas/OU in B10 or ACC hurt the SEC compared to Texas/OU in BXII?
If the administrations keep chasing money, it seems a super national conference is inevitable to the detriment of a chunk of current SEC schools.

It's the difference between being buried by 25 tons of rock instead of just 20. They aren't surviving either.

We’re fine. We will just keep winning baseball National Championships in the SEC.

OU would be a good deal but UT sucks. They make Mizzou look like a bunch of Pat Buchanan's
September 9--UT Vs. LSU---Dildos for guns--the first 5,000 people will receive a dildo for every gun they bring in.
October 14--UT Vs. Alabama---Che Guevara bobblehead night. The first 10,000 people will receive a limited addition Che Guevara bobblehead.
November 17--UT Vs. UGa---Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Weekend. Come hear our incredible friend, AOC speak about the dangerous mindset of other SEC fan bases, excluding Missouri, and help us get out the message that these hill billy's bigotry will not be tolerated in the SEC anymore
December 2--UT Vs. Florida--Pink P**sy Hat Night--the first 10,000 people to enter the stadium will receive a once in a lifetime, limited edition, Tex Ritter autographed, Pink P**sy Hat.
HEll NO!

Aren't they collecting big checks being in the SEC?
You must mean they aren't surviving from a competitive standpoint.
They are doing quite well financially and from a prestige standpoint.

You missed the point that Miss State or Vandy might be the Baylor, Kansas, Iowa St, etc. of the future.
The future SEC might be a minor conference or extinct if "big boy" SEC schools join a super national conference.

Keep in mind, somebody has to lose all of those big-time games. A higher division/league would make a loser out of somebody. Y'all need your wins against us as much as we need our losses to y'all.
The NFL still has the Lions, Browns, Bengals, etc.

There will be four super conferences, SEC, ACC, B1G, PAC-16

Yep. somebody will become the doormat.
But the doormat will be located within a major TV market. Not Mississippi.
A super national conference would turn a school, say Michigan, into what Vandy is now.

Wow that is some self awareness.

CFB has lost a tremendous amount of its appeal in the last decade.
It's like the soul of the sport got sucked away.

Plausible.
However, if the SEC TV revenue dwarfs everyone else, it would be in the interest of USC, Ohio State, etc. to try to get Texas, UGA, UF to jump ship for even more $$ in a super national conference.
Ultimately, the buck stops with UGA, UF, etc. staying loyal to the other SEC schools
But is it in their best interests to do so????

I can see a breakaway league happening with the four super conferences as the NCAA is falling apart

If UGA, UF, etc. aren't lured into a super national conference, I'd predict 2 major conferences.
