The formula is to stack the box and make Relf beat you throwing. I can't remember a game where State won because Relf threw the ball well.

I would expect this from a CUSA fan, remeber what we did to Memphis, you will get it in 20whatever we play you.

some thoughts:

1 -- Having Eltoro Freeman back should really help out the run defense. He was huge against the run last yr against Bama.

2 -- We've got to take advantage of our mismatches against state's back seven. We've got three legit WRs and an NFL TE.

3 -- Bring more pressure & force turnovers. WE didn't force any last Sat... didn't even come close.

4 -- continue to own special teams... make state go 80 yards with touchbacks... continue to cover punts well... continue to return kicks well... etc.

IMO, to have any real shot it's on the shoulders of Trotter and our OL... give him time and he can get the ball to playmakers... unfortunately, that's a lot to ask of inexperienced guys against a very good defensive front.

The key to beating State is to knock Relf out of the game. We just got to find someone willing to play the Nick Fairley role. I thought Bates would be a good candidate, but tends to bounce off players.

Yeah, please do that so we can let mini Favre run wild on you all day, he is way more mobile than Relf and probably just as accurate. Or bring in Russell and light your secondary up. Taking out our QB will not be your answer. Maybe buying another one of ours will though.

MSu has like 12 Heisman-worthy QB's on their team.

Nevermind that none of them have probably played against an SEC team

Have you seen how much of a difference there is when watching Auburn's DBs versus, say, Bama and LSU's?

That is what you call a talent gap.

We need to be much more aggressive, period. Man-to-man, blizting, going for picks, solid tackles, etc... Jam those fricking WRs at the line and make them earn a route.

I completely agree. It just seems like Roof is so afraid of getting burned deep. Dude needs to grow some balls and take a chance.

I have a feeling Frazier will be making an appearance as starting QB down the road, or much playing time. There was a lot of thought and planning that went into that.

Coaches didn't just say "oh crap we need a trick play to get going here send Frazier in screw the RS."

You are really upset that most of us are predicting a loss. Your team is finally out of that underdog shadow, embrace it.

That's what happens when you're predicted to win around 8-9 games at State. At any other college, it's just a normal, every year kind of thing... 9 wins is average at Auburn, Bama, LSU, Arky, etc... At State, it's a great season.
