I would make fun of this....
But this is sad. For the first time ever I feel sorry for Ole Miss fans. This is the most embarrassing thing I have ever seen.
I would just find another school to support.

A lot of people like to believe that our nickname will eventually be changed, but those people are no better than the people who believe that the government carried out 9/11 or that our president is the anti-Christ.

But you do realize that the laws of unintended consequences will reign supreme and, of course, everyone else will now call the teams the Black Bears, just to irritate the Ole Miss fans. (But that would still be better Landsharks).

I think the nickname is next. I give it 6 years and Rebels will be gone. Just my opinion.

Looking at some of the other boards....people don't want to believe that the name will change, but just look at it now. Fans are already talking about this stupid "Fins Up" stuff and shark themes for the band to play. That doesn't sound like "Rebel" stuff. Sounds like "shark" stuff.

And possibly even "Ole Miss" itself, being that it was a slave term for the mistress of the plantation.
Just wait for the next PC wave to run through the country. Might be a lot longer than 6 years, though. Hopefully.

Yes, but your administration keeps screwing up so how can you be so sure? First, it was the confederate flag, which I agree had to go. Then, Slow Dixie and Colonel Reb are taken away. Sorry, but those things should always be associated with Ole Miss.

Yeah, maybe amongst yourselves...but fans of every team in the conference will start calling you the Ole Miss Black Bears, or Yogi's...SOMETHING to get under your skin.
