You were preseason ranked 8th and finished ranked 20th. Congrats. Personally, if I had a vote in the polls then I wouldn't put Ole Miss in for next year. Yall lost way to much to compete in the top 25. Calm down, i wasn't trying to flame Ole Miss at all.

Didn't State win the SEC in 1941?
Congrats on tying Notre Dame on most National Championships.

Alabama, Minnesota, and Texas are the recognized champions for 1941. Mississippi State only won the SEC outright that season. I don't necessarily agree with some the titles claimed, but that doesn't make me any less proud of the long, storied history of Alabama football.

Rutgers will be better with Savage as a soph and Martinek running for 1,200 yards. Great freshman on team this year Sanu and Beauharnais will be good

Will miss Davis though

Let me help you.

Arkansas loses no one of great significance off an 8 win team. The schedule is MUCH easier (plus Mallett has played tremendously in all HOME games). Arkansas has been one of, if not, the youngest teams in all of major college football for the past 2 years. Those same youngsters that won 8 games THIS year will now be Sophomores and Juniors instead of fresh/soph. Perfectly logical ranking for Arkansas going into next season.

Nutt recruit. That automatically makes him a negative 3 star and wouldn't start on a SWAC team.

No he was just making the point that our once very young team is getting older and experienced.

We return Mallett and the best group of WR's in the country. We are losing Michael Smith. Everyone else at RB is back. We don't have any huge losses. Our Defense will be older.

D.D. (DeQuinta) Jones is a pretty solid DL. Word on the street is that Sheppard took him under his wing and basically acted as his mentor throughout the season. Hopefully that helped him out a lot. Yeah, it sucks to lose Sheppard, but I think we'll be fine. Surely we can't get any worse on defense.

And Wendel Davis.

We lose two guys of significance of our two deep.

8 wins this year.

I can certainly see a top 20 ranking.

No attack on you, but this is exactly why preseason polls should not exist and polls should not come out until after the 4th week of the season and on that Tuesday so that coaches can actually put more than a minute worth of thinking into the damn thing.

Why is a team getting ranked 16th just because they are SUPPOSE to be better?

Calling bullshite on that. Talented? Sure. But Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, and Florida are still more talented than you are, and you could make a case for Tennessee, South Carolina, and Ole Miss being equal to or near the same level talent as well.
