Auburn

I grew up across the street from the Burns family in Ft. Smith and was friends with Kodi's older brother Khayyam. They are fantastic people. I don't know if AU fans really love Kodi when he's on the field, but surely they can't deny how great of a kid he is off the field. Since he's been there, I've pulled for AU in all of their games with the obvious exceptions of those against the Hogs.
Yes, we beat your shitty teams. We also beat your awesome, highly-ranked team (#2 wasn't it?) in '06 on your field. The Auburn Tigers don't strike fear into the hearts of Arkansas fans. Your highly-regarded recruiting classes mean nothing to us, and they won't until you can consistently pummel us on the field. You haven't been able to do that for a while. Maybe you will in 2010, I don't know. But wait until then to start beating your chests. Seriously, stop trying so hard to convince us of your vast superiority. It's just not going to work. frick man, I think even one of your own agreed with what I'm saying a few pages back.

And since we suck donkey balls again this year, I'm thinkin' I might start rooting for you guys (with the obvious exception of the next game against you at BWA on Jan. 28). I sure as hell won't be rooting for UK.

thank god for that! He's just a damn good player. I think I heard 'em say earlier that out of the 8 blocks he's had tonight, not a single one has gone out of bounds. That's ridiculous! He'll be fun to watch in the NBA.

Jarvis Varnado is a badass. I'm impressed by him every time I watch MSU play. He's a senior now, right?

Yep, he scares me. Who else do you guys have behind TR and Ingram? Not that you'd really need anyone else with those two, but still.
Mallett could be the biggest dipshit in the world, and I wouldn't care as long as he continues to play well for us. I don't think it would even bother me if I found out he was actually the man behind the most awful posts ever - you know who I'm talking about? Yep, Wildrebeltime... the undisputed King of Douche-Baggery! Might be because I'm high and I'm cool with whatever right now. I might think differently tomorrow. Anywho, it's time to make a taco bell run. Good night to all.
I wouldn't call wins over Auburn, SC, or maybe even LSU (since it's always close) upsets. If you've beaten a team more than once or twice in five years, it's not much of an upset. Upsets are rare treats for a team. Ole Miss beating FL last year was an upset. UL-Monroe beating Alabama was an upset. So, talent-wise, I don't believe that more than half of the conference is a whole hell of a lot greater than us... especially not Auburn or SC, regardless of what their recruiting classes were ranked. Call me a batshit crazy homer if you want, but I think we're a pretty talented team. You can keep trying, but you're not going to persuade me to think otherwise.
Who are the 5 teams that are definitely more talented than us? I'm guessing you're thinking Bama, FL, LSU, Auburn and SC. Of those teams, Bama is the only team that we honestly just couldn't hang with this year. I thought the FL game was going to be similar, but that wasn't the case. LSU was a really close game (as it has been for years now), and we beat the shite out of both AU & SC. How on earth did our inferior/less-talented team even stay in any of those games, let alone win any of them? frick the recruiting rankings. Why doesn't anyone wait until a kid proves it on the field in a college game before they anoint him their team's new freakishly good impact player and/or savior of their program?
I'll take our receiver corps over that of any other SEC team. If they were shitty or just so-so, we wouldn't have had the kind of year we had offensively. As for Bama, Florida, and all the other teams (except maybe LSU - their receivers are always good) listed by RandyMarsh... I just don't think they're leaps and bounds ahead of our guys. Not trying to start shite with the 5 million Bama posters on the Rant, but their receivers weren't exactly dominant last night. And Florida's offense wasn't quite as badass this year as they were last year. Yes, those teams won more games than we did, but I don't think it was because their receivers were just out there owning mofos. We leaned very heavily on our receivers, and they definitely delivered the majority of the time. I suppose some people just always have it in their heads that lil' ole Arkesaw can't possibly have better players (at any position) than any other SEC team.
D.D. (DeQuinta) Jones is a pretty solid DL. Word on the street is that Sheppard took him under his wing and basically acted as his mentor throughout the season. Hopefully that helped him out a lot. Yeah, it sucks to lose Sheppard, but I think we'll be fine. Surely we can't get any worse on defense.

He's been practicing with the team for a while now. I'm hoping that means he'll be back on the court soon. Until then, Clarke (and maybe Powell) seems to be our only hope, especially if Washington's back issues don't get any better.

And, yes, the Baylor game was all kinds of bad. The Baylor fans behind me were shocked by how terrible we were in the 2nd half.
just got home from the vicious beating at verizon (alltel) arena. I cannot believe how terrible we are right now... one of the worst offensive showings I think I've ever seen. Scotty, Corliss, and even U.S. Reed were there; I'm pretty sure they also shuffled towards the exits shaking their heads 5 minutes into the 2nd half like everyone else did. The crowd had been great until that point. So, fans of other SEC teams, go ahead and mark the Arkansas games as wins on your calendar. We really are that bad.
We probably don't have much of a chance, but I'm going anyway.

haha. Sorry man. Clarke hit a three, State could not buy a basket, and Clarke just iced it with 2 free throws. Hogs win! Merry fricking Christmas!!!
