The end of Bryant's coaching tree.

Bruce Arians was the last college or NFL head coach that coached under Bryant at some point in their career. John Mitchell is still coaching for the Steelers but that's it. Pretty impressive considering Bryant has been gone for 40 years.

I'm confused. Was bruce the last coach under bryant coaching? If so who is john mitchell and why is he relevant?

I don’t think you understand what coaching tree means.

Arian is a fitting last name for a man who worked for a known racist.

Bryant wasn’t racist, he just couldn’t wait to get out of Arkansas. You can’t blame him for that.

Paul “Bear” Bryant was often accused of being a racist for refusing to recruiting black players because according to him they were not as athletically gifted as white players
He was racist and dumb

The argument that black players were not as good as white ones was dispelled after the loss to USC when all of the Alabama fans saw the potential of black players and how dominant they could become. Alabama would need to change its ways if it still wanted to be competitive in the new era of college football, one with black players.
God damn people from Alabamer are stupid as frick

The man and the institution he worked for was so racist the FBI had him on a list

That link is just dumb myth. Alabama had black people on the team years before the USC game.

Arians was a GA at Va Tech and then spent a couple years at Miss State before spending one yes just one year at Alabama. He came back to Bama in 1997 for one year under Dubose so I guess he is a part of his tree as well
Don’t really consider that to be under Bryant’s coaching tree

For a Southern state, you hillbillies in Arkansas are decidedly white. Why is that? I guess the fact your state is very white for a Southern state is part of the reason your football team sucks so much.
Given a chance, a man won't live where he doesn't feel welcome.
Arkansas 15.7% black residents
Alabama 26.8% black residents

True. Arkansas was poor white trash and hillbillies.

That depends on what the definition of a racist is by the time period.
