That tackle will be shown on every film on form tackling for defenders.
It was textbook.

I said, then, I thought it was intentional roughness, I say today same thing. I thought the hit was fine, but driving him into the ground was a bit much should’ve thrown the flag.

Dallas Turner plays the kinda ball you want on your team. If dick butkus played today, LSU fans would have multiple billboards up trying to get this guy banned for life. Neither player was dirty. Both players wanted to hurt you physically through knocking your head off. Y'all LSU fans are soft as Charmin.

Is this what actually happened though?

I’m not an LSU fan Sonny. Probably went to my first Bama game before you were born.

I miss the days of playing with your head on a swivel, but that’s just not the game we have today.

As the rule is written, should have thrown the flag.

Try blocking him and JD wouldn't have got hit.

Five days later and there is still a Dallas Turner thread on the first page…

That is TEXTBOOK tackling!!

Both LSU and Alabama teach the same technique, facemask to the chest, wrap the arms and lift. LSU actually coaches a sideways roll like an alligator if you will, to knock the opponent off balance. A technique that is now under scrutiny for a rule change as it leads to knee injuries. It's almost as if football is a dangerous game.

LSU Drills Rolling during tackling

Former LSU coach, and my coach back in the day, "Boots" Garland used to say, "Football is not a contact sport! It is a collision sport!" Game is over, time to move on to the next.

Obviously works much better for Bama. We kinda lack at tackling skills.

That became very obvious early in the 3rd for sure.
