I remember the first game of 2008 like it was yesterday.

Tommy Bowden had Clemson ranked pre season top ten. Alabama was coming off a fairly disappointing first season under Saban. Losses to ULM, MSU, and AU left a bad taste in our mouth.

But still, it was a new year and hope springs eternal in the heart of almost all football fans as the new season rolls around and kickoff finally takes place.

I remember the statement bama made that night. The tide had turned. Bama played physical. Bruising. The team Saban promised at his first press conference had already taken the field. 2007 was quickly dismissed as an anamoly.

I respect what Dabo has done at Clemson. Lots of football left to be played. Even through crimson colored glasses, I don't see AU or Florida as easy wins. Clemson could easily lose to SC or NC.

But how sweet it would be to see a rematch against the team who served as a warning to the rest of the football nation that "bama was back".

The fact that Dabo played on a NC team at bama makes for an even more interesting story line. Really hoping to see Clemson in the playoffs.

Ah, the "Escalade" game. Great memories. Saban had a group of freshmen that made up the number one recruiting class and he wanted to test them on a big stage right away. Clemson fans were cocky, but gone by the third quarter.
