I guess she forgot to explicitly tell him to keep his dick out of Candy Edwards.

And every single Bama response is based on the same things. Of course we want him gone and of course y'all want him to stay.

Except the reality is he's staying, and any rational person knows that. Hence the delusion.

I think the bidding war argument is a silly one. Bama and Texas can both afford what Saban's salary would be. Texas will only get Saban if they can appeal to ego. I think getting him to buy into being the only coach to win one at 3 different schools is their best shot. Some of the residual coaxing could be retiring in Austin v Birmingham.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm sure you're deeply connected to the inner workings of the Saban's though. You know, since you live there and all.

Ace Midnight is on to something. Believe it or be in denial.

Florida State is now the crystal ball team and with the Heisman trophy winner as well. FSU is the "new darling" thing, and will get recruits that nick would normally get after this year.

U add in Malzahn, who is the real deal and he has a sharp edge to him as well. He will make life as difficult as possible for Saban. Sumlin isnt a slouch and is sitting in one of the very best recruiting spots of all with his nemesis in disarray. Miles is getting better every year, Cam Cameron was a big hire. Freeze ....? well he can recruit.

It certainly will not be easier for Saban moving forward. Other teams are catching up. Tennessee is recruiting like crazy as well.

Is he gonna just sit there in Gumpville and watch the fraud Urban Meyer steal his legacy? This is going to haunt him more than losing to Auburn. He knows he can run circles around Meyer. He also knows, him coming into the SEC is the reason Meyer QUIT the SEC in the first place.
The perception of the college world will be Meyer is the best because any objective person knows he will win 10+ games almost every year. And when u look around the Big 10, he may not lose a game for a while. He will be in several NC's, not just this year.

Even if Ohio State gets blown out in the NC game, the media will spin it favorably to the great Urban Meyer and say the program is '1 year ahead of schedule' or Wait till next year etc....
Hes the fair haired kid and he made alot of friends during his "miraculous recovery" at ESPN.

Saban knows Meyer pulled a fast one and lucked out with the Tressel fiasco. It's at least crossed his mind dont u think? Is he going to do the exact same thing as Meyer and bail at the right time to keep his legacy intact as well or sit there like this year with a loss or two watching the Buckeyes play.

If Saban goes to Texas and wins 1 title, the perception will be that he is the best and he will he will be the highest paid.
That Texas job is only going to be there either this year or possibly next only. He will have to take it now or set up a plan to keep Brown 1 more year and then do it next year. He will never get the chance again if he stays in Alabama.

Now that Winston is off the hook, there doesnt seem to be anyway for them to still be in it this year. So things may be in full speed right now.

Sleep well Gumps and trust everything that little fella and his wife says.

That Texas job looks awfully good from here. Michigan shouldve offered the bank account yesterday.

There was an GQ article about 15-20 years ago about him amassing a $500m fortune. I can't confirm he's a billionaire now but I don't think its a big leap, do you? He made his money on several dog tracks which take major political connections. Believe me, if anyone had connections its CPBJr.

He may be, my point was throwing the term "billionaire" like every school has a passle of them is not realistic. There just aren't many billionaires in this country. Not as many as people would imagine.

Does the fact that this same thread, with the same speculation, the same insults about Bammers, the same hopes and dreams by LSU fans, was created last offseason mean anything? Or the one before that? Or a month ago? Or two months ago?

We've seen this same exact story, this same exact thread, literally every month for three straight years and the LSU fans have been wrong every time.

But I'm sure yall are right this time.

Way over the gumps heads on that one.

I just love hearing them say...."Do you think she would lie?"

I doubt he will go, but hearing them jump up and down claiming it is impossible because Terry made a statement just shows their ignorance on the Sabans history. Sure he is a young poster.

BTW the oaks look great.

So just how much would you pay him? Its not going to happen dude. If Saban leaves, its not going to be because TX outbid us. The only possibility I would pose is the unusual pressure that comes from being #1 every day but that's about to change a little. Losing to AU and losing AJ might actually help that psyche' out next year. Not to mention the first playoff in CFB. I just don't see him going leaving for any reason discussed.

I don't remember seeing quotes from his agent, and this many "sources" confirming anything. I've been around long enough to know SOMETHING is going on. There's way too much smoke this time. I'm not saying he's going but I bet there's some serious negotiating going on behind closed doors.

The LSU fan mantra:

"I'm not saying he's going, but he's definitely thinking about going and probably gone. Too many sources. Too much money. Ego. Boosters. Best ever. Smoke. Fire. Ice. Football.

But I'm not saying he's going."

What difference does that make?

Saban wants the headline to read:

"Saban highest paid coach, college or pro, gets $9.125 million per year to take Texas job."

You see how that, while superficially about the money, is more about his ego, right?

He may not - but he might - just based on his past history - this is the longest he's ever held a single job in 63 years.

This.

There isn't much you can get for 8 million that the 5 million you're already making won't buy.

Sorry if actual facts go against message board mob mentality. Texas's wealth is vastly overblown.

FACTS

Take the Texas Longhorns as an example. College football’s most valuable team is now worth $133 million, up from $129 million last year. The Longhorns generated $104 million in revenue in 2011, the first time a college football team has ever cleared the $100 million mark.

Bama fan mantra:

"We're the bestest job in the world at any level so why would anyone want to leave us? He's already been offered a job to be king of the world and turned it down."

Naaaaaailed it.

Understood. A lot of people don't even understand the difference between 1M and 1B. Its just a bunch of zero's that they'll never have. CPBjr is on the board of trustees and has the money and nads to make a special donation or setup an outside business deal to get Saban any financial package that was realistic. Bama will not be outbid but again this is not going to be about money. Doesn't matter what TX offers financially.

Show me where more than a few Bama posters have made that or any statement close to that in this thread.
