Experience helps a lot on the OL.

I'm talking about the Auburn OL. They return every starter. The issue is they were bad last year and they have been in that system for 4 years at that point.

Yeah but cohesion is built on the field not in practice. That OL will be miles ahead of last year.

No. That OL will suck again this year.

Explain why though. We see OL units that are inexperienced struggle and then the proverbial light bulb goes on. It’s not like that unit is full of waist benders. It’s not a coincidence that they looked better later in the year.

It’s nice you came in this thread to show your constant devotion to all things Auburn(as you always do). It must be nice to have that, when your life is filled with nothing else...

Also what’s it like being UGAphan? Do you map out your day in advance with your Auburn stuff or does it just come freeform?

I don't think I am stepping on any toes...but are you sure they looked better later in the year? Do you mean against Liberty? because outside of Liberty they got:

19 yards rushing-A&M
102 Yards rushing-Georgia
130 yards rushing -Alabama

They may very well improve this year. I'm not saying they won't. But, I'm not sure those numbers show they improved. Those are not great numbers for a team that primarily relies on the run. I think most Auburn fans realize this and would agree that OLine play will again be a huge key to their season.

these are players who have been training for 5 years. Magic OL Fairy dust is not a thing.

Their total offense ranked 78th in the nation. Their rushing attack was 68th. Their passing offense.... 74th. They ranked 90th in 3rd conversions. 40th in sacks allowed.

These are players that red shirted and were in their 4th year.

No rational AU fan thinks we break 10 wins.

I mean, it's possible. You do have both Georgia and Alabama at home, and you have a team filled with upper classmen. Those are pretty big indicators of a big year. Not a guarantee, but a break here or there and Auburn could have a big year...10-11 wins are definitely possible. Unfortunately, so is 7-8 wins. You just never know.

Auburn rushed under their season average in the first 4/6 games with the exceptions being a major outlier with an FCS team and nominally better against Miss St. So, yes, they showed better in the 2nd half even with the A&M game. Bottom line losing Johnson and the injuries at WR had a cascading effect on that offense. The lone reason for optimism was Stidham and I think we can all agree he was overrated. A run thumper at QB will open that offense up.
