They are just covering their asses because Saban hasn't taken the bait. They are backpedaling until they can figure out who else to go after. So, now they are going to show support for Mack until someone actually accepts an offer. But where does it come from? Nobody has any idea who is actually running the show over there.
Regents: "Let's talk to Saban"
Big money donors: "Let's throw 10M at him"
Fanbase: "Mack is not our standard"
Powers: "Mack is the best coach in CFB"
Patterson: "No changes have been made"
Jamail: "Everyone else are screaming idiots"
McCombs: "We're rich, bitch"

What was the score of that Texas/Ole Miss game? I can't recall it off the top of my head.
No one can because no one was able to watch it on tv
Here's where I part ways a bit with other Aggies over "they suck", if "they" means all of them. The funniest post I've ever seen anywhere was on shaggybevo after it was announced that the Ole Miss game would be on LHN:
We're Texas *

The best thing for MU IMO was to get away from B1G and Midwest. They have the viewers and brand there. Their new focus is in the South and Southeast along with having old stomping grounds.

We want to poach high level recruits in BIG territory along with the midwest and sell them on playing in the best football conference.

After Colorado and Nebraska paid the 20 million dollar exit fee for leaving the Big 12 does anyone remember Texas wanting what they called the lesser schools share of the money for themselves and Oklahoma?
Posted on 12/13/13 at 5:54 pm to MizBob
I forgot about that. Scumbags.
Pretty sure they got it too, didn't they?

I thought NU got out of paying that fee. The B1G worked a deal out.

quote:Yes they did. I believe they offered a share of it to A&M as well because they were in talks with the SEC at that time, A&M turned it down and left anyways.

Hey guys, I'm really enjoying this thread but I'm gonna have to check out for a while to watch the Horns eat dinner on the LHN. Hoping for a repeat of the thrilling highlight from last year when Mack dribbled gravy on his tie.
Television GOLD.

Since 1992, Texas has had just:
1athletic director (he started in 1981)
2 Football coaches
2 basketball coaches
2 baseball coaches
Since Mack and Saban are the hot topics this week, and we all know that football drives the machine...
How many NCs and conference championships has Texas won in this golden age of stability? Hell, how many have you guys won throughout your illustrious history? I mean, you guys claim to have all the money that doesn't belong to the Pope so I'm sure that it has been well spent in the pursuit of titles.
30 or 40 conference championships? 15 to 20 NCs? More than that?
I hope so, or else you're nothing more than a bumbling, self-absorbed, overly rich shitshow. The Paris Hilton of CFB.
You and your new LSU friends may now commence with all of the u mad, he gone, etc., etc., etc.

Hadn't been over there in a while until you suggested it. Lots of gold.

They've also got a couple banquet threads going; may have to check those later.

Why would anyone give a damn if they started a thread about this thread? They're a big 12 team currently doing everything they can to embarrass their legacy coach in his last week before they break the bank on a mercenary to come save them from irrelevance. They've got bigger things to worry, like how they're gonna spin it when they hire their 5th-choice coach when Saban says "frick your clown show" and stays at Bama.

LINKHere's how Texas runs the Big 12: Its conference commissioner, Dan Beebe, acknowledged on a Tuesday conference call that the have-not members of the conference had offered to tilt the $18 million to $20 million in exit-fee revenue from Colorado and Nebraska toward Texas, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Not TV revenue, but the penalty for leaving the league.
