Are we sure these ticket prices are face value? Meaning, the Texas A&M Athletics Dept is making the money here.
This is most likely the secondary marketplace. The ticket holders (or expected ticket holders-- students and alumni alike) are selling them, so they will pocket any profits. It's a matter of guessing how much, if any of that money then gets "donated" to the 12th Man Foundation or whatever.

My father in law paid ~$8k (with fees and taxes) for 4 tickets to take my wife, brother and law and I.
I think we are 1/4 way up on the first dick, 50 yard line. Literally perfect seats. There were a lot cheaper options but overall it was outrageous even for nose bleeds.

I would pay for tickets right now if I knew that was going to be the outcome of the game.
I do have a 6-3 record in attendance at Kyle Field.
The 6 wins were absolutely glorious, highlighted by Tucker's FG in 2011 and 1995 when our fans stormed the field after winning the last SWC game ever.
We aren't going to talk about the 3 losses though!
I'm just happy the game is coming back. I have a lot of friends on the other side and it's way, way, way better to have the bragging rights for the year.. this first game is going to have stupid ratings.. like break records ratings if both teams are good.
Please put this game on Thanksgiving where it belongs!

Big 12 doesn’t seem to be destroyed. A&M, Baylor, and Texas Tech left the Southwest Conference at the same time, 3-4 years after Arkansas left, so it was not Texas alone that destroyed the SWC.
