I get all this "its a rivalry throw everything out the window" talk, but lets get real for a second, ou is playing with a freshman and a horrible oline with zero running game.

Texas 42
ou 10
Have you forgotten we were able to beat a pretty good BlowU team with Case McCoy and company? Or the Charlie Strong team that couldn't do much of anything right?

I get what you're saying and agree, but the rivalry game thing is no joke.

Last season you almost lost to Houston.

Who cares? This is like Texas fans arguing we're going to win because we beat Alabama last year. Try not to be so fricking stupid for once

Texas 19

Texas scores on the last drive but fails a 2 point conversion.

Ewers is back and the OU offense is still trying to find an identity with a young QB. OUs defense is going to try and keep it close for a while but won’t be able to keep the horns out of the end zone as the game goes on.

Every year you have a down game. Sometimes more than one. That was my point. Hell, Bama just us one. I don’t see Texas as head and shoulders better than the top 6 teams in the SEC when it comes to professional preparation.

Consequently, given your schedule, I could see you having a down game like Houston.

That argument is hardly stupid. Name me a year Texas didn’t almost shite the bed. Yeah. Never. Many times they do.

Clearly you haven’t watched OU play this year because our running game sucks lol. And Hawkins doesn’t suck at all, he’s a true freshman that has excellent potential. Remember Caleb Williams? Nobody thought he’d be what he was when he came in down multiple scores.

Like I said, I think Texas is a paper tiger. OU is battle tested and they’ll win on the back of an elite defense. Something Texas hasn’t seen a lot of this year.

That would be glorious, because if you beat them, I’m quite sure they would probably drop one more after that, probably to Arkansas.

And A&M would have sole possession of the lead in the SEC. So go Sooners!!

Key word: Battle tested. I think everyone can agree that Whorns didn’t play anyone decent. We have but I’ll admit our offense sucks arse so who knows if Hawkins can carry us in RRS. Can’t completely rely on defense.

Agree. However, if we can be middle of the road and avoid disasters (3 and outs/turnovers) I like our chances at making this a good game.

Lots of ifs and when’s. I get it.

If Texas o-line holds up very well vs Oklahoma’s front 7 it’s gonna be a long day for Oklahoma. Too much speed to contain

Hawkins is not Caleb Williams by any metric and this Texas team is far better than that Texas team.

You have no basis to make that claim because Caleb Williams wasn’t Caleb Williams before he became Caleb Williams.

Unless you got a crystal ball, you have no idea and neither do I.
