First the "SEC Team" is kind of funny. Innovative offenses in the late 90s and early 2000s led the way in the SEC. Spurriers Fun n Gun and Meyers spread option attack were setting the pace.
Saban came to the SEC from the Big 10 and brought power football to the conference. Miles brought power football back to LSU from the Big 12.
Texas was playing finesse football on offense under Greg Davis. Since the early 2000s, Texas has had a string of good defensive coordinators with SEC and or NFL experience.
Ditching Davis and hiring Harsin (Boise) has brought a more run first mentality to the offense. While I don't think that they have the experience or depth on offense to compete for the MNC this year they are going in the right direction.
At the end of the day, Texas now plays a stop the run first defense and has for a decade. The offense is best described as a run first pro-style.
aTm certainly doesn't play SEC style football, they weren't even good at playing Big 12 style football.

Good Lord, get over Texas already. They have given A&M fans such a complex. Besides, A&M isn't a SEC team to me either, at least not yet.

Also, that great Texas SEC style D gave up 55 points to Oklahoma and 48 to Baylor. Does anybody think an elite SEC D gives up that many points to Baylor and OU? Or almost 40 to Ok St?
A&M's D gave up fewer points to all 3 of those teams

20. One of those scores was a pick-6.

Someone said he was on finebaum last week and said he was so devasted by the alabama arse-whipping he received after colt cried that he called Saban a year later and ask for help moving past it.
I bet those whiney bastards in Austin are beaming with pride.
frick UT ... east and west

Ideal scenario:
A&M surprises everyone by winning at least 9 games this season. Goes to the Cotton Bowl to play t.u. Wins by 7 touchdowns.
Afterwards, Eric Hyman and Kevin Sumlin hold a press conference telling the sips that "we might have an opening to play you in about 10 years".

Out of curiosity, what is Texas' modern football win/loss record against aTm...say the last 35 years? Too lazy to look it up...

I'm 34. In my lifetime (1978-present):
First 10 games: 6-4 A&M
Second 10 games: 7-3 A&M
Third 10 games: 7-3 Texas
Last four games: 3-1 Texas
Total over the last 34 games: 17-17

You're in the SEC now. You've got much bigger worries now than Texas.

Texas A&M hasnt played one game in the SEC. Once you play the first season then try and talk about teams in other confrences.
Arkansas is an SEC team you are just a wanna be still. In the mean time quit obsessing about Texas football you are no longer in the BIG 12. Please act like it.
