Should have kept Kissing Herman. He was actually winning games, but Texas thought they were better.

Heard Finebaum interviewed on sports talk this morning, and he stated that both Texas and Oklahoma need to get out of the Big 12 as quickly as possible, since losing in the SEC would be better than losing in their current conference.

I guess I see what he's saying, but I'm also not sure I really follow his logic.

Texas has had big-time support for a long time. What is the SEC really going to change for them, that they can't already do to get better? Recruiting?

It'll be just like hiring Saban!!

Sarge, remember Saul Alinsky's Rules for horn posters

1. Don't post anything of substance

2. use plenty of LOL emoticons to pretend like you have

3. Use "everyone else" as a strawman that somehow magically agrees with the Longhorn, even though no one ever agrees with you except the Class of 2021 22 year old longhorn virgins in mommy's back bedroom

4. Accuse the opposition poster of "melting" or "embarrassing themselves"

5. Wait one day (or one hour) and just lie about basic facts of the thread at hand

Not really. There is no buzz around campus or Austin when you have 0-1 big time home games a year. Everyone acts like our recruiting has been great but it has been mediocre at best.

I'm just here to see if they can increase on the 5 losses this year to 7.

Boom!!! You sir, nailed it, Herman had 4 winning seasons and won all 4 of his bowl games if I'm not mistaken

Yeah, I guess I mean, for example, if West Virginia came to the SEC, it would elevate their prestige, encourage boosters and support, and help recruiting (A&M's path is similar, but due to slightly different circumstances).

Texas has really been in position to dominate in the Big 12 for so long with all of this already in place, so what does the SEC bring for a high-level program that they can't already do right now?

I'm honestly not trying to flame, I just don't get his reasoning as to why transitioning more quickly would be that beneficial.

Didn’t Charlie Strong try and basically got shunned? I know being in the spotlight didn’t mesh with him.

Year two might just end much like year 1. It's the Jimmy and Joe's but you can't run all the players off in year 1.

(he should have made a dent in his easy button crowd)

here's your boy in 2015 getting angry on the sideline

he gets his shots in and the player keeps jawing back it appears, based on the fact the other asst coach jerks the player back at the end

Yeah, no discipline at all

He's a great OC. Nothing about him ever made me think he'd be a great HC.

Charlie did fine with the spotlight as DC at Florida and HC at Louisville

I think he met some really evil shite with some Texas boosters going after him from day one, some involving petty shite like hating on him because his wife is white? I don't know, somebody with more info needs to tell that story.

But that's evil shite. That makes a person question why they made a move, and then if you're stuck for a few years, you're stuck. How do you go to work after that with your heart in it?

Texas 5 star divas won't tolerate a disciplinarian coach. This has been Texas' problem for years now but they keep blaming the coaches.

I think you missed an important point :
Bo Davis' bus rant so deeply hurt their
feelings, they plunged irretrievably into
a crybaby status and only psychological aid can
provide some comfort.
You hate to see it.
