You do realize that that team Texas beat was having a FSU style temper tantrum dont you? Upset at being left out of the NC game a good number of players declined to play, decided to prepare for the NFL or were out nursing injuries. Everyone was upset and mad as hell. Even the fans didn’t travel to this game in huge numbers like Georgia does. I’m embarrassed to say I almost stayed home.
It was a stupid decision and UGA learned from it. Nothing like showing up short handed and sleepwalking thru a bowl game. And above all suffering the embarrassment of losing to a team like Texas. It sure made us realize our mistake. This won’t be happening again. We will be leaving the boycotts to the FSUs of college football.
We got shafted again a couple of years ago. Instead of declining to give our best effort UGA showed up in mass. Beat a sulking FSU team something like 65-7. Like Kirby said we were going to leave no doubt. And we didn’t.
