In this context, your comment doesn't make any sense.
yes it does. aTm wanted to get out of the conference because of the UT politics/chokehold on the Big 12.
It's been said by aTm posters on here on a number of occasions

A&M is content with losing to UT 76 times and is willing to let that record stand
Nobody gives a frick about balancing out leather helmet era defeats at y'all's hands when we were a military academy first and foremost and playing an inordinate amount of games on your turf while y'all were sitting on the state's talent

Do. Not. Care.

so then why didn't you say that off the bat? there is no way

considering texas didn't sprint from the conference as fast as they could, yes
meant that we left because they pushed everyone aroud
this is exactly what I meant and I based it 100% off of what i've read from aTm posters on the rant

so responding to "the rant wont call texas a bitch by saying this" with "well since you ran as fast as you could" you meant "well a&m left the conference because texas pushed everyone around"? alright man whatever

However, if the rivalry resumed UTex would get exposure once a year on the SEC Network with SEC recruits watching
The game would most likely be national, so this is a non-factor.

what?
Dude, I said aTm ran away as fast as they could. And I based it off of shite i've read on here about Texas controlling the conference. It applies perfectly. I don't see what the hell is so unbelievable?
aTm leaves the conference, says they don't care about playing Texas anymore=looks weak
Texas stays in the conference and says the rivalry is over due to aTm leaving=makes perfect sense

Only reason for A&M to resume right now would be to maintain stronghold on recruiting in the state of Texas. If A&M played Texas this year and beat them like a drum, it would be nearly impossible for guys like Sheffield, Mack, and Jefferson to want to go to Texas (good possibility all those guys go to A&M anyways).
Only reason for Texas to resume would occur if they thought they could beat A&M and become the dominant program in Texas again. Considering A&M would be favored by two touchdowns in a neutral site game, there is no chance Texas is resuming this game any time soon.

First they drop a conference championship and now this. Schedule is shaping up.

I was just being sarcastic back to your sarcastic comment.
But I definitely think it looks bad to leave the conference and then blatantly say you don't care about the rivalry. It looks worse since they've dominated the series.
I'd still want to play the game due to the fact that you now have an advantage. Texas not wanting to play it makes perfect sense in my eyes. They're way ahead in the series, and they weren't the ones who left the conference.

I actually did not know this. If true, UT is obviously being the bitches here.

completely agree. But I take back my comment about them being bitches, actually. I don't blame them for not wanting to have an annual game against an SEC team who they share the state with, since they lead the series.

Let's put it this way: both TAMU and Mike Slive publicly bent over backwards to keep the final game date of the season open so we could continue our rivalry with them. Texas responded by saying they weren't interested in playing and black balled the remaining big12 members from playing us in the future.
We tried and we're willing to continue even though we were stepping up in competition. They told us to pound sand. So frick them, we have bigger fish to fry.

Holy shite Patterson always has something to say about A&M. I don't give a shite about playing tu. If it happens it happens, but with the 9 game schedule it makes less and less sense.
