Texas won the first game in the series 54-0 in 1894. In fact, Arkansas would not score its first points in the rivalry until a 1907 game. It took them 13 years to score against Texas. That was some defense by the turn of the century Longhorns.

Back when teams played the Likes of Fort Smith high school. Arkansas was a local university of the time period and didn't have statewide fans. In other words no one cared.

The Arkansas team was. Fricken racists. I believe the Texas team had a couple native Americans.

The coaches were all professors from the school and were unpaid. These teams were as relevant as the semi pro teams at Pea Ridge. Hugo Bezdek was the first paid coach in Arkansas history.

Also, why do you think people that attend Arkansas were rejected from UTjr? Im sure some of the Texas kids that come to Arkansas were but people from Memphis, AR, Tulsa and other places that feed into Arkansas arent even applying to Texas.
Nobody wants to live in the $hithole of Austin anymore. You can go out in Fayetteville without running into the mass amount of homeless people or worried about getting killed on Dickson
