Will they be part of the SEC in 2022 ? Haven't heard much on the negotiations with the Big 12 recently. I think it could make a difference on who LSU will get and if Mullen survives the season. Conference realignment could have some long term effects on some coaches careers.

Probably not. I'm pretty sure Texas doesn't want it at this point

If the playoffs dont expand, they won't come at all.

Why? The Big 12 is an afterthought and the SEC is home to the Gameday Crew most weekends. Visibility means everything to a program today, even if you have to take a few loses.

Never thought it would be that long. Too much change made the last two months in Conference realignment to want to see it delayed a few years. You do not announce a divorce and then spend two years talking about it before you leave the house.

Lol good one. We definitely still want it, and from what I've heard, the 2023-24 season is the most likely.

Looking forward to it

At the rate they're shedding players into the portal, Texas may not be able to field a team next year...

Me too. Your OL/DL are incredibly soft - you won't win very often at all

Was told the same thing about a&m in 2011.

Luckily, players graduate and new ones come in. That's... kind of the point of college football. So here's to hoping Sark turns it around.

Did you forget that Texas and Oklahoma also compete in 19 different sports other than football?

I'm looking forward to Texas on the diamond - no doubt about that.

Texas will drag it out as long as they can. They can't even win in the BIG 12. Gonna be ugly for them in the SEC
West.

You're not joining the conference with a QB that has back to back Heisman type seasons

At this rate, you'll be joining and fighting it out to not finish last

The playoffs aren’t getting expanded until all the conference realignment dust has settled. The okie/ut to sec deal is what put it on hold.

The Big 12 2.0 is finished and there is no going back to the Big 12 3.0.

The B1G however is still courting Texas and its no secret that the academic side in Austin favored the B1G over the SEC. The major hurdle was the B1G has no interest in Oklahoma. And Texas seems to have joined itself at the hip with OU. If the B1G was to reverse its decision on OU, then anything is possible.

Very pumped to see what has been the most exciting Tuesday installments each program has maybe ever had turn into a 3-game weekend series again.

I personally liked the Friday on one campus, Saturday & Sunday on the other setup, but I doubt that's maintained when it becomes SEC regular season play.

Before this season, baseball was the only sport I was a season-ticket holder in. So needless to say, I'm more excited about baseball than anything else

Odds would say probably not, but how on earth would you know that already? Especially if we don't even know which season will be the inaugural one.

Like I said - lot's of rebuilding and roster turnover left in Sark's tenure. Nothing to do but hope for the best when his recruits are installed
