You tried to bolt for the SEC back in the old SWC days as well.

Did the SEC come calling for you in 2010?

DeLoss was absolutely a clown. I'll concede that point.

What LHN recruiting and conference game shenanigans?

Trying to get the LHN to broadcast high school games of texas recruiting targets, which we and Oklahoma had to bitch about to the NCAA.

But, the final straw was when we got a copy of the LHN contract that said they would use best effort to get more than one conference game on the network. Dodds told everyone that it was on going to be one game. Pissed Bowtie off to the point of no return.

So, regardless of motive for wanting to join the SEC, we are here BECAUSE of the asshats.

There’s a cadre of UTex and LSU posters—many are present in this thread—who, without fail, respond in all Aggie-referenced threads.
it’s a bit disingenuous to post this and fail to point out the cadre of A&M posters who do the same thing in all-LSU referenced threads.

Yet multiple big 12 teams have played in NY6 and Playoff games since then, but the Aggies haven’t sniffed either....none of this matters for a barely over .500 all time program.

This is a fantasy thread... reality isn't appreciated.

We would still be in the Big 12, but for the LHN recruiting and conference game shenanigans.

That's not true. Aggy was broke financially and threatened to leave for the SEC if they didn't get a bigger payout from skimming off the top of what the lesser schools received.

You're a joke and a proven liar.

So you're of the opinion that the LHN has been some huge success in terms of exposure and recruiting for whorn?

Even the aggies in Stillwater have played in a NY6 bowl game and won, and were a hair away from playing for a natty. Because they're the real aggies.

Nebraska and Colorado announced in June they are leaving the Big 12 for the Big Ten and Pacific 10, respectively, with the Cornhuskers set to leave next year (and Colorado to be determined).

The two schools will have reported exit fees of between $30 million and $40 million combined, and in keeping the league intact, five of the schools that would have been left behind had the conference dissolved — Baylor, Missouri, Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State — had agreed to give up their parts of the departing schools’ fees to the “big three” to make sure they reached the $20 million.

Beebe said Tuesday that Texas and Oklahoma had declined that offer from the five schools, but that A&M — whose athletic department is in the early stages of paying back a $16 million loan to the university — had not.

Are you trying to say A&M is poor?

If that was the case in the Big, I am pretty sure they are doing very well now.

He's saying they were broke in the BIG XII and tried to extort the league for money with threats to leave for the SEC. They ended up leaving for the SEC for money (because they were broke) and you guys bailed them out. They couldn't spend those SEC checks fast enough.

They were struggling with debt, staff layoffs and having to take out loans, which is the real reason they left the Big 12.

They weren't going to be able to sell their school with a one-college network and needed to attach to another conference that would share the proceeds of winning, bigger-name schools with aggy.

It's very obvious that their situation improved.

So why do they keep blaming TEXAS?

Just tell the truth.

I mean, okay, I guess, but either way it seems to have worked out.

I am curious, do you think Texas hurts the Big or are you in the camp that feels they are the tentpole?

They are concerned that A&M to sought a better financial deal than what the Big 12 offered.

It was ok for other conference members to do it, but they are still upset at A&M.
