I think this game has the potential to be one of the most exciting games of the entire season. There's the potential for it to be a defensive slugfest or a fast-paced shootout and that dynamic is very interesting to break down.

The first will come when A&M's stellar defensive ends go against Mississippi State's young offensive tackles. State has lacked the ability to run the football this season so far so it would be very probable for them to pass early and often. When Dak Prescott drops back to pass he will have two of the best DEs in the country in Myles Garrett and Daeshon Hall bearing down on him like speeding bullets. Can State's tackles shore up their pass blocking and hold back the rush?

The second interesting matchup comes between Mississippi State's WRs and A&M's DBs. State has some very good WRs in their arsenal which are terrors to stop. The biggest threat comes from 6'5 WR De'Runnya Wilson. Wilson is a very physical wideout who can create space with his size similar to Mike Evans. Can anyone in the A&M defensive backfield step up to defend him?

The third best matchup is between State DT Chris Jones and A&M's offensive line. Jones was a 5* DT in 2013 and has quietly become one of the star defensive linemen in the SEC. Known for his power and quickness, Jones can shed blocks with ease to enter the backfield. Team have to gameplan around him because of his ability to create havoc and cause TFLs and sacks. Will A&M's offensive line bounce back and grow from their less-than-stellar past performances?

The fourth matchup is between Christian Kirk and whoever the hell thinks they can cover him. Let's face it, this dude is faster than a cheetah on cocaine and no one has been able to stop him. Can anyone cover this dude?

Lastly, the QBs for both of these teams have shown that they can be elite. Both Kyle Allen and Dak Prescott are deadly accurate and have very lively arms. Dak Prescott is a RSSr who has tons of experience under his belt in this conference. Allen is a true SO with half a year under his belt and 4 games in 2015. Which QB will step to the plate and take on the challenge at hand? Both defenses have enough talent to rush the passer and it will come down to their abilities to pass since neither team can run effectively.

I think this game will be a slugfest early and a shootout late. Both defensive coordinators John Chavis and Manny Diaz have to be sweating bullets going into this game knowing the capabilities of the offenses they will be facing.

My prediction:

State will be able to move the ball against A&M with De'Runnya Wilson and company catching the ball but the difference will be A&M's budding defensive line. Myles Garrett and Hall should feast on State's offensive line and cause havoc in the backfield. Dak Prescott has not been running the ball as effectively as he did in 2014 so I don't expect him to get many QB runs. A&M's offense should be able to take the top off of State's defense and gameplan around DT Chris Jones and DB Will Redmond with their elite WR corps.

Aggies get their first SEC victory in the new Kyle Field vs a ranked opponent this weekend.

This required a lot of effort for something that no one is going to read.

I think MSU is very underrated, so this game will tell us a lot about A&M (finally)

I agree it will be a high scoring game. Our D-ends will get upfield and beat blocks, opening up running lanes for Dak.

Semi-bold prediction: Dak goes over 100 yd rushing and under 300 passing. K Allen throws 5 TDs and an INT.

There's absolutely no way the scores are that high.. Is Arkansas' defense THAT much better than MSU's?

I clicked the thread, saw how long it was and who it was by, and went straight to the comments. So no, I didn't read it.

Arkansas's best defense was their offense. Their TOP was over 40 minutes. If State continues to throw the ball, there will be the potential for a lot more points to be scored. Final score doesn't always indicate how good a defense is. A more telling stat is average points/drive

I do t think this will be a high scoring game unless there are multiple overtimes.

State: 31
aTm: 24

That was A&M's first SEC opponent and they stunk it up. Expect them to be a well-oiled machine after they adjust to Diaz's scheme. It's going to be an air show.

Exactly. The game is going to be very long.

I just have this feeling that we're giving Aggie more credit than they deserve. I'm not necessarily saying MSU is much better, but I think this fear of Aggie putting 45 points on the board is unwarranted.

Dak Prescott is a treat to watch. He's going to shred everyone's secondary this year. If they can figure out a way to run the ball they'll be one of the better teams in the entire SEC.

I watched Brandon Harris drop bombs on State. Kyle Allen will be able to light that secondary up.
