For what we know today, LSU has not done anything illegal or against SEC rules. LSU has simply pursued players that are deemed college eligible by a court order (as other teams have done), but those players have stated their intent to sign with LSU.

Due to the infatuation that the sports world and this board has with Lane Kiffin, that immediately became a powder keg of responses and immediate rule changes by individual conferences. The media is so obsessed with Lane Kiffin and itching to find any reason to say, see I told you so.

The SEC as it has known to be is second to the Big 10 with decision making. They wait for their position and then follow behind with their roll out rules.

All while the SEC rolls out these rules, that could very likely be found as a violation of anti-trust laws due the NCAA and their subordinates not being exempt because no collective bargaining agreement exists.

SEC goes forward with a vote on penalties and moves sole responsibility of levying these fines and penalties to Greg Sankey. The only school that did note vote either way is LSU. That removes a degree of separation from any lawsuit that might potentially come against the conference.

While the sports world can continue to point at LSU because of their obsession, LSU will be fine saying we didn't vote for this.
