When looking at the all-time record, one should keep in mind the fact that A&M was a very small, all male school for a long time. LSU would not even come to play us in College Station, so we came to play them in Baton Rouge just about every time. In that 20-27 record against LSU, I think just 5 games games were played in College Station.
A&M experienced MAJOR growth in the late 70s and early 80s.

As for LSU breaking the series with A&M in the 80's this is how it went down:
LSU signed a 10 year contract with us, home and away.
We won 5 years in a row.
Joe Dean, the LSU AD at the time decided he didn't want to play us any more and ended the series.
LSU owed us 200,000, Dean refused to pay, our AD Wally Groff threatened a lawsuit and Dean told him he would have the venue in Louisiana and Wally settled for 100K.

OK but you have to promise to not get upset like last time and take your football and go home. BTW you still owe us money for breaking the last contract.
Congratulations on beating a 2-9 LSU team 20 years ago. That is a huge accomplishment for a mid-tier football program like Texas A&M.

Funny, when an average LSU team played Texas A&M's best team of the last decade in the cotton bowl it was a mismatch. LSU beat A&M like a drum.

I was at that Cotton Bowl, that game would have been a lot closer had Michael Hodges MLB and Leading tackler didn't get hurt. After he went down, all hell broke loose.

You beat us but that wasn't an average LSU team.

WTF? males play football, and you still wont let females cheer.

A&M jumped out to a 10-0 lead. Even after Hodges went down, they were down 7 driving to potentially tie the game in the 2nd half. Game was closer than most remember.
An L is still an L, though.

Actually 90-94 was probably our worst 5 year strech of all time with our worst football coach all-time (Curley Hallman). So yea we were basically that bad the whole time. If your gonna use the whole "we pretty much sucked back in the day when we had to play you all the time". We'll we sucked donkey butt the last 5 times we played you in our worst stretch ever.

It really was though, remember they were saved by incompetence against UT and luck against us that season.

LSU leads the overall series 27-20. 14 of those games were played in Texas. I don't know where you got the five games from. You should be glad LSU broke that contract. That saved A&M from many loses and beat downs. Shorty after the contract ended LSU became elite and Texas A&M became mid tier. A&M becoming mid-tier was due to leaving the cup cake southwest conference (WAC conference) and joining the big 12. Schedule got much tougher and the wins decreased.

Actually If you go back and look at the teams we have had since 2000 that team was probably our 5th or 6th best team of the decade so yea I would say they were pretty average.

LSU was not ranked at the end of the season all five years. Overall had a losing record. Did not go to a bowl in five years. Kentucky, ole miss, miss st, and Colorado st were also beating LSU those years to.
Congrats on beating a bad team 20 years ago. Very sad and pathetic your bragging. I guess you guys have not done much in 20 years.

2010? The club finished 11-2 and top 10. But performance wise, I think they were pretty average, except the UA and A&M games , when they did play like a true top 10 team. They struggled with UNC, WVU, UT, UF, Ole MIss, etc.

You Aggies will probably tell your fricking grandchildren this story; seriously, I've read this a thousand times on here. Besides, in hindsight, didn't it work out better for you guys the series be canceled? We became a juggernaut shortly after it was canceled

Actually, 17 were played in Texas, only 12 of which were home games for A&M. There were some Cotton Bowls and neutral site games in there. The full record is 20-27-3. (I forgot that LSU played in College Station for 5 straight years prior to 1913. After 1913, LSU played in College Station only 7 times.)
Out of 50 games, only 12 of them were home games for A&M. 32 of them were home games for LSU. The rest were neutral site games.
Considering what a tiny little college we were, and what a massive home field advantage you guys enjoyed in the series, it is amazing that our historic series record against you guys is so close.

(I don't know why, but I can't seem to link the proper page. Go to the "All-Time Record by Opponent" Tab, click it, and select LSU. The full record is there. I might have made a mistake in counting, but I was pretty close.)

Sorry...didn't know asking a question was bragging.
