Let see how well your 5-7 arse does against Bama. We did alright against them. Let see how you do. We will see who the paper tiger is then.
So we just need to do better than 2-8 in our first 10 years? I'll take that bet.

Alabama could start their 3rd string and beat tu comfortably

Sounds like a bunch of wishful thinking from a Chokelahoma fan. Still butthurt over the 2012 Cotton Bowl I imagine.

UT and OU will take a big step back having to play in a stronger conference.
Proximity will probably mean more direct competition for recruits in TX and LA which is likely to bring all four programs down closer to equilibrium.
But also recruiting is mostly national now.
In the former BIG 12 before the first realignment, Texas,OU, A&M, and somehat Nebraska put up a big wall around the state of Texas as far as recruiting. I think the same thing will happen again; especially with the NIL money that Texas and Aggy can toss around. There will be a wall around the state, and both teams will do well, probably OU also. The high school coaches will get behind those 3 schools, and it will come down to whichever of the 3 has the best coaching staff to capitalize on the situation to determine who owns Texas and the SEC west..

Declining from what? Are you saying they'll finish worse than their usual 8-4?

I don’t think OP understands how football and football recruiting works.
