The only job that would have gotten Steele out of Auburn was the UT head coaching job. He will retire from Auburn as one of best DC's we have had.

I heard the President didn't sign JP's offer. They are going to announce Gruden after the NFL season ends.
Edit: second typo in 5 minutes. I'm done.

Consensus seems to be either Elko, Foster, or Venables. I think the first two are actually likely

Funny how Auburn likes to take rejected Alabama defensive coordinators and recycle them. Bill Oliver, Kevin Steele, tried to hire Kirby, had Muschamp who is a Saban disciple just never coached in Title Town, (thank God). Chiz is unemployed. Go call him.

I remember Foster was a serious candidate at UGA several years ago,and the press conference was actually scheduled for him to come to USC in '07, but he pulled a Cremins.
Maybe he's finally willing to leave Blacksburg, but I doubt it. Guy seems like Mickey Andrews made over.

If we want him, we will get him. It is that simple.

V enables was offered the HC job at Arkansas, why would he decline it only to be the DC there later?

Ask him?
Why would he decline the HC job at Arkansas to be the dc at A&M?
