If it's Brent Venables I would be soooo happy. I wouldn't even care that we would still have to play him every year.
I think he'll stay until his son is done though.

He, along with others, has been rumored. But I don't believe it. The timing seems off.

Rumor out of Athens is it’s Willie Martinez.

I'm hoping that it's Bud Foster, but I'm not holding my breath. Seems like a big hire. I'm impressed with how quiet they've managed to keep it, whoever it is.
Would he actually ever leave Va Tech? 30 years is a long time to coach somewhere and leave for the same job at another school.

Timing?
Clemson is a better job than A&M. That's the bigger issue.

He was going to leave 3 years ago but he wanted to wait until after the bowl game and we decided to hire Chavis.

He's publicly stated that he was ready to leave for A&M three years ago. I'll find the interview.

I think it's mostly timing, his Son is committed to Clemson and will graduate HS this spring. I imagine he'll be there until his son graduates unless he somehow gets fired.
I know he recently said some things that make it sound like he isn't interested in K-State but I think it's smoke. When Snyder leaves/dies he'll get the offer and I don't see how he doesn't take it. He went to school at KSU, he's from like an hour down I-70, and it's obvious that unless they get transcendent coaching talent they'll slip back to pre-Snyder level of terrible football so I think he'll take that job.

I have to agree with tAggie here.

I don't know who that it. The hire, whoever it is, is a DC at a school playing in a bowl or playoff game.

"Jeremy Pruitt has decided to decline the Tennessee HC job to become DC at A&M."
...and the Rant explodes.

Not going to lie, I’d give my left nut to see that, even if Pruitt flamed out in a year.

So it’s one of 64 possibilities

You've narrowed it down to all of college football

The only people who think the Aggie DC job is better than the Clemson DC job are A&M fans and South Carolina fans.

Whoa, I never said I thought it was a better job. It may pay better but it's much harder.
