I am surprised you are actually able to put together coherent sentences. You don't seem that smart. Google can keep you from looking so stupid.
There are five service academies, one for each branch of the military. They are federally funded and every graduate serves in the military upon graduation. Among other requirements, you have to be nominated by a congressman, the vice president or some other high ranking government official to attend.
There are six military academies that are part of a university, A&M being the largest of the six. These schools partially support the ROTC program. All freshman and sophomores in the Corps of Cadets at A&M are in ROTC. At the beginning of your junior year, you have to make a decision of whether you will want to stay in the military after graduation or be a civilian. You have the option to just be in the Corps of Cadets because you enjoy it. Probably half of the upperclassmen in the Corps do not pursue a military contract.
There are also over 1700 schools that have ROTC programs that are not supported by their respective schools. Most of the SEC schools have an ROTC program at their university.

My guess is that she was probably in the Army prior to going to college and is getting a "full-ride" scholarship from the Army.

Texas A&M has grown rapidly since the 20th century and is now the largest university by enrollment in the United States. With an enrollment of 64,961 students, of which approximately 2,560 are cadets, Texas A&M is the largest of the SMCs by total student enrollment.
