Appreciate the clarification and level-headed response. We’d probably have some great discussions over cold beer, chips and queso, and good football.

It's institutionalized. Now that I think about it, it's pretty obvious that A&M is wholely inorganic, contrived as a beacon of conversativism to produce a certain type of student and thus keep certain industries, which would be less than ideal geopol/MIC/public politically, from becoming and thus acting progressively.
It makes sense to a certain degree, but it's so manufactured it makes your skin crawl. And while the nepotism is 100% real, rings are a dead giveaway, I suppose that's also by design because it furthers the cause.
I'd never considered it until now, but after mulling it over, the enigmatic relationship with the Bush's make far more sense as well. Jesus, that's also likely why the admission standards were lowered, to increase production.

So y’all sound like a bunch of DEIer’s by hiring not the best candidate for the job but solely offer an Aggie former student. At least aggy graduates can always get a job at Buc-ee’s.
That’s not what I said. Quit twisting my words. You know the Aggie Network is strong, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of. And I’m not. And there are plenty of qualified candidates…no DEI required. Aggies hire Aggies, and that’s cool as shite.
But yes, no doubt an Aggie would always have a job at Buc-ees, if needed. Another strong, Aggie owned and operated business.

100%.
It’s not for everyone, obviously. But, in the broadest of senses, for those of us who cling to our guns, religion, and conservatism, it’s a beacon of fresh air in the progressive landscape that is higher education.

Then you don’t mind taking my order the next time I’m at Buc-ees. I’ll have the Buc-nuts, a slice beef sandwich and a coke. Btw, the #5 stall in the bathroom needs cleaning. Looks like Chin pubs missed the toilet!

I don’t work there, but it’s been my experience that those who do perform a stellar job at attending to the needs of their customers. It’s about as solid (and basic) a business model as there is — do a good job.

Uhh there was a gay bar there (80s) when I went to school there. I don’t know the name but it was off Wellborn.

This joke works in a lot of rivalries but Texas has you all beat pretty handedly here
Not so sure about that. In Texas I would think it’s more even and probably elsewhere as well especially in fields like engineering.

My primary issues are why and how it came to be, and the fact that almost no undergrad on that campus realizes what they're walking into. It really is brainwashing 101...and, while yes, that is the entire educational system to a certain degree, I'm not sure there's anything so blatant as A&M

You’re selling college students way short. Most know exactly what they’re getting themselves into. Not all (which is fine), but the majority do.

What do you think is happening at Texas and many other schools across the country.
They aren’t being taught how to learn or question but to follow leftist dribble without questioning.
Some of the Texas students in our neighborhood since the summer of love have actually gotten less intelligent as they just repeat the crap they are told. It is almost always the white ones and specifically the white females. They cannot think on their own anymore. They also become disrespectful like they think they have actually earned living in mommy and daddy’s neighborhood.
The India-Americans going to Texas stay the same for the most part which is one positive for Texas as they take over the university with quotas gone. I don’t think they are good at football unless it’s football in Europe, but you can still dominate in soccer and of course cricket.

You sound like the typical arrogant Texas grad who isn’t as intelligent as he, she, it, or “they” think, but tries very hard to be as condescending as possible to fake it.

I’d rather go to a school grounded in traditional values than a school that is struggling to be the wokest of the woke.
Neal Brennan put it best: the problem with being liberal is you can never be liberal enough.

This is funny the two step children of the SEC fighting online. Do we need to separate you kids?

No intentional condescension in that post baw, nor a Texas grad, just pointing out what is glaringly obvious after a bit of examination. And attempting to undermine my intelligence is a fruitless indeavor

Admittedly, my parents didn’t go to college. I asked my Dad where I should go and he said either A&M or UT. That year y’all got your arse handed to you by Bucky. So I decided both schools are great but I can’t stand four years of living in Austin rooting for a team that sucks.
So I went to A&M. It was a glorious time in College Station.
Later my son asked where he should go and I said you choose. He visited Austin but stepped over homeless people and decided he would go elsewhere. He went to Rice. My daughter played VB for a D1 school and my other son played golf for a Pac12 school.
One is a doctor. One is a lawyer and one designed Alexa and works for Amazon and can buy you ten times over. Hell, my whole family probably could.
So you go on about your own self. We are all good here.
