I can honestly say that I am glad that Arkansas has an AD who will distance himself from problems immediately rather than getting in bed with them and going down with the ship. That's what I envision happening to ND. It would have been in their best interest to distance themselves from Te'o immediately.

I feel confident that the dad will say he was misquoted. That south bend writer is in deep shite if he didn't record his interviews.

I just want to hear from more ND fans about what a great and honest citizen Manti is and how he exudes integrity, compared to you know who.

Jury is still out, though. It may turn out his dad is the dedicated liar and he's just a complete dumbass.

There are too many direct quotes from him, to simply explain it away as a cruel joke like ND tried to do today. I guess another explanation is that she did in fact exist and come visit him and his family, but she was completely full of shite about what her real name was. She probably decided she wanted to break up with him, so she told him she had leukemia and then she died. Bitches be cold blooded sometimes.

Ok, so we're looking at a best case scenario where Manti thought he was dating this chick without dating her then lies about and plays up their relationship after she "dies" to help himself get during a Stiff Arm Trophy run?

Cause that sounds much better...

If he was catfished, and he truly didn't know, I just think it's weird that he led everyone to believe they'd met. That would indicate on some level, he knew it was weird. And if that was the case, I don't know why he didn't refer to her as a friend.

If he really is that naive, God bless him going into the NFL. He is going to be eaten alive.

He was in a "relationship" with this Twitter account for 3 fricking years and no one in his family thought it was a little odd that they had never met the girl?

shite...the instant my mother has ever found out I'm dating a girl she immediately asks when she gets to meet her.

I have a feeling a lot of girls are gonna be contracting leukemia and dying, as a way to break up with a guy.

Apparently some of the players knew they had never met, and said they just thought it was just his thing. That said, it's weird to me that they would give him a game ball and dedicate it to a girl they knew he hadn't ever met.

I volunteered for a summer camp with kids who had Downs Syndrome, and this cute 14 year old thought he had a real girlfriend because they'd danced at the camp mixer, and since she was leaving the next day, we let him think he really had a girlfriend. It sort of reminds me of that.

...and not to be repetitive, but who was giving all these quotes to the press about the times they met?

I'm not sure. Not that I know of. But I'm majoring in journalism and while everybody else is busy questioning Te'o I would take Robby Toma off guard and question him. He knows something

Exactly. And I thought they met and locked eyes. I wonder how they really met if he never met her that first time.
