Studio Four Design Inc. of Knoxville has been chosen to design and oversee the next phase of renovations of Thompson-Boling Arena at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

The project, including construction, is valued at $15 million. Design work will begin immediately.

“We couldn’t be more excited,” said Stacy Cox, S4D President. “We were involved in the first major renovation of Thompson-Boling Arena several years ago and are excited to continue our relationship with UT on this next phase of the work.”

The renovations will include improvements to men’s and women’s locker rooms, upgrades to restrooms, concourse improvements, mechanical and electrical upgrades and a new roof.

Tennessee has the prettiest empty arena in the SEC (that's not a joke).

I wish they'd start up work on Neyland's south side. That's been stalled for some time as Hart cleans up Hamilton's mess.

Hopefully the new roof is more attractive than the old one. TBA has always been one of the best college arenas on the inside but I've always thought the exterior was ugly.

Easily one of if not the top basketball facility in the SEC. What Pearl did in that building was remarkable.

LSU needs to do something ASAP with the PMAC. I think it looks like shite, but I don't think anything is even planned.

Tenn's looks great. Well done.

Yep. We spent our reserves on facility upgrades last time (Hamilton got burnt when the economy crashed) but that's been cleaned up. We were never broke just low on reserves and had debt service to clean up.

We rolling again now.

I really like the stacked suites up top. I wouldn't mind seeing something like that done at Bud Walton someday.

Looks like gerbils would love it.

In all seriousness, that looks very nice. Love your bball building despite that awful orange theme.
