I think UT fans are the only ones that can be called 'bitter' (and rightfully so, even though I think they ended up with a better coach in the long run). The rest of us just wanted him to stick around after talking so much trash during his 1-year tenure. It's like your little annoying brother running his mouth and then going and hiding behind mommy before you can catch him.

question for you? how does one team winning it all mean the rest of the conference is great? how does bama winning it last year mean the rest of you are so great.
Maybe 4 consecutive BCS titles by 3 different teams plays a part in this?

For anyone to argue that the SEC is not the best conference is just silly.

I have never argued that. i agree it is. i just find it funny that one team wins it and all the other team try and claim that. LSU, UF, and bama have won titles, what exactly do the other 9 teams have to brag about?

according to you guys hes a terrible coach. so why are all you hillbillies so butthurt he left. you should be celebrating the fact that hes gone, yet most of you are so bitter, that is quite the irony
Trust me, losing the "person" Lane Kiffin is not what we are pissed about. It's the 3rd coach in 3 years that's the issue. UT will be fine...but as for USC, enjoy getting beat by Washington St in a few years...
And the SEC is 6-0 in BCS title games. The Pac-one (soon to be Pac-zero) is 1-1. Vince Young says hello...

Damn. Its a shame it won't happen. Can you imagine the hype for this game?

I don't blame you for not understanding conference and to some degree southern pride.
Most tree hugging, pot smoking, skateboard riding hippy west coast liberals wouldn't understand.
I bet you don't use sir or ma'am and have never had grits.

Tennessee would more than likely lose, but I wouldn't mind. However, playing UNC, Cinci, AND USC along with UF, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and LSU would be suicide for a team that doesn't need any help going 6-6,

in response to RLDSC FAN....
Here is what the SEC can brag about.
We have had 4 different teams with BCS titles. Nine of the 12 teams in the conference have made it to the SEC Championship game. THis shows that these teams are all capable of competing at the championship level. What other conference can say this? How many different teams have won the pac 10 in the last 20 years? The SEC has had at least 6 different conference champions in those years.

Who's trying to claim Bama's 09 title? or UF's 2008? Somebody fill me and surfer boy in..

Well, that we play in from top to bottom the fastest, biggest, strongest group of college football teams in the country? Where athletes just simply have another gear?
That just about anyone can beat anyone.
We have the biggest stadiums, best tailgating, best women (easily), best coaches, best facilities etc.
Just be glad your pretty boys never got matched up with an SEC team in a NCG. That's all I have to say.

Those 4 teams had to scratch and claw their way past the toughest competition to get that title. UT can be proud that they gave Bama a much tougher game than Texas. AU can say they did something that Ohio St could not do in 2006. Ole Miss can be proud that they did something Oklahoma could not do. Kentucky and Arkansas can always say that they beat the champs in 2007. Ohio St cant say that. The SEC can say plenty.

Lane Kiffin must not care about his or his family's personal safety if he wants to come back to Knoxville.
I'm not a big fan of Mike Hamilton but declining was the best move. Kiffin wants to come play a program he bulldozed into the ground when Dooley hasn't even gotten one year to rebuild the mess he made. Kiffin just inherited a Cheatin' Pete football team that he took all Tennessee's recruits to. None of that adds up. The offer shouldn't have even been made. Maybe three or four years from now when Lane Kiffin doesn't know the details and capabilities of everyone on Tennessee's team.
