I get sick to my stomach anytime I read recruiting violations like that. I mean how can Bama, Clemson, & OSU compete in recruiting when UT has the audacity to play paint ball games on campus. Death Penalty!!!

This is NOT what the internal investigation is looking at and why the NCAA is poking around. This is not what Kirby/Mims snitched about or why Gray and Maurer were held out of games.

They are just reporting other violations that happened. The investigation is still ongoing and they just now interviewed Pruitt today and Neidermeyer Wednesday.

UT didn’t hire 2 lawyers charging $500-$750 an hour to dig up dirt on a paintball match.

Auburn almost got the death penalty for buying a kid some groceries for him and his family back in the day. The NCAA has no bite anymore.

That sounds as dumb as ole miss fans saying they got LOIC for letting a kid sleep on a coach's couch.

The truth is always far more damning.

Tennessee should just do like that filth in Tuscaloosa.

Have players openly post pics of their new cars and wads of cash on Facebook. Then have them pose in front of Hot Wheelz in Mobile with their new customized wheels and tires on those cars.

"Unemployed" college students....

those seem like minor violations, might get hit with an off campus recruiting ban for a little while but a long way from death penalty.

An unsanctioned paintball game
The NCAA is such a useless organization

Pretty serious but doubt it will incur the "death penalty".

I may be but I can't get my head around these being 'serious'. Serious to me is (large) cash payments, loans or 'transportaion' in the form of a Dodge Charger.

If I were a coach, I would have been suspended enough no one would hire me... because I let someone participate in a paint-ball game or bought too many lunches.

Seems silly to me.

The Haslams and the Tennessee BOT are without a doubt the most dysfunctional bunch of rednecks I have ever witnessed. Money and very little football sense is a lethal combination. The collateral damage that is being done to Tennessee football's reputation is getting sad.

At this point in the ongoing melodrama, it would take a special kind of redneck to want to be the next head coach in Knoxville.

I think people are just confused since this story dropped right during the investigation. Paintball match is from summer 2019.

You know, $500 an hour isn't really a lot for for a lawyer. The good ones charge well over $1000. My wife is a lawyer and she charges $500 an hour and she is one of the more inexperienced lawyers.

I don’t care. The point is UT doesn’t hire outside council period if it’s about a paintball match. Especially not the ones they hired.

In the NFL he can hire and fire with impunity and has exercised that right, extensively. And nothing says NFL success like the Cleveland Browns, by the way.

Now, running roughshod through the BOT, AD, Chancellor, and numerous head coaching searches with the same slash and burn policy, not so much.

Yep, more like $2,000.
