Yes, and he had a 50% completion percentage and had already lost to a terrible NC State team. Weinke that year was the definition of a game manager and not elite at all. He didn't win the Heisman until two years later. The prior year to 1998, FSU had also been elite and they had won 6 straight ACC titles and a natty. Weinke brought nothing to their 1998 or 1999 teams.

I mean thats true but anyone who rushes for 2,000yds in the NFL is having their best days. Jamal Lewis was expected to be the majority of the TN offense in 1998 because he had just set the freshman record for rushing at TN. He was by far a bigger lost to the TN offense than Weinke.

Either way, saying TN had a week natty because of Chris Weinke's injury is insane. That must make Bama's 2009 Natty the weakest win in history.

Yet, that FSU defense wasn't good enough to beat Tennessee. The Vols had just under 400 yards of offense against that Defense.
