I will always be somewhat invested no matter how bad we are.
But this demise has certainly given me more excuses to do other things on my Saturdays as opposed to watching the Vols get stomped on.
And thankfully it's just one sport. Since I went to UT and grew up a fan of the Vols, I care about all of Tennessee's athletic teams pretty equally. Sure, I would sacrifice decent basketball and baseball to have a good football team again, but this is a lesson in life that you just can't have everything you want.
And it hasn't all been bad. I was born in Tennessee and raised a Vol fan, but I grew up in Kentucky for much of my life. Watching Tennessee basketball steal so many games from a blue blood rival has been thrilling. At the very least, I got to grow up watching some good Tennessee basketball. They'll take a step back this season but I think they are in a good spot going forward.
Tennessee baseball has never been very good, but watching them get to a 40-win season for the first time since 2005 was very exciting! I'm a huge baseball fan, so it would be awesome if all three of my favorite SEC teams (Vanderbilt and LSU are my others) are good in baseball. I love the energy of college baseball- it's a pure Southern sport.
Whew! Didn't expect to type out that much, but there ya go.
TL;DR: I acknowledge the football is at rock bottom, and it absolutely sucks what the program has become, but there are plenty of other good things about Tennessee sports at the present time.

If you go back and read I was specifically talking about SEC teams.

I remember swearing off LSU football after week 4 of 2016 until Les Miles was fired.
Dude UT fans would cut their nuts to be 2016 LSU with Miles. Their current situation is equivalent to 2-9 Curley Hallman.

Becoming LSU football even after the Troy loss would be miraculous for Tennessee right now.

Fair enough. To your point, 'no.' Chattanooga is not in the SEC. Are you not concerned about Chattanooga? And are you subtly trolling Moo State with your comment about them?

Somebody specifically asked about them in the thread and I responded truthfully. Are you actually reading the thread?

I have to reassure myself sometimes, so I let it out in that post. Thanks for being my therapist for today, OP.

Yeah, I asked specifically about Vandy in response to you referencing Conference wins. But I'm legitimately curious about your take on Chattanooga this week?

Of course I have hope...basketball season starts on October 30th.

We just lost to Georgia State and BYU. There is no one on the schedule I am not concerned about.

I think we can win a game or two between Kentucky, Vandy, South Carolina, Missouri, and Miss St. All of those teams are bad
Define bad.

Oh, so you weren't actually interested in my opinion on Chattanooga. You were just trolling. Gotcha
