I believe the kid is being encouraged to do this to force NIL "contracts," instead of agreements. As soon as the first team protects itself with a contract, then the players will unionize for collective bargaining and a revenue split.

Cut his arse UT. Cut him and and no one will pay that for a the 10th bear qb SEC. Frick him. Enough is enough.

You can't have contracts without first having collective bargaining. Wisconsin already tried to argue they had a contract with their former DB Xavier Lucas who went to Miami. They had a signed contract which is why they wouldn't enter his name into the transfer portal. His attorneys called their bluff on enforcing the contract, the kid transferred without ever entering the portal, the NCAA said they would have nothing to do with this, Wisconsin talked a good game but didn't dare try to enforce the contract, and the kid is playing for Miami now.

Florida should show him that he is wrong when Florida ended up winning the game and he flopped. He might not even play because Heupel might bench him.

Edit: I will add, that it has been said he does like Heupel and being at UT. I think it boils down to he got the wrong advice and this spiraled from there.
I don’t remember the player but his agent did something similar last season and the guy wound up being shown the door from a p5 school he didn’t want to leave. He told the press he had no idea his agent was making moves until it was too late. With Nico, this likely falls on his dad cocking things up alongside whoever they have repping him.
I don’t feel sorry for Nico. He a fricking millionaire before he can legally drink but a lot of people have hinted that he’s gotten fricked over by those around him on this.
Wild thing is he was chilling at the QB dinner with coaches and other QBs the evening before he suddenly no shows. This is an epic mistake but it’s one that has done so much damage that I don’t think there is a choice any more. He has to go.

Y’all went to court and beat your chest over defeating the ncaa over this type of crap. You should be proud, it’s what you wanted and everyone has to deal with it now. Congratulations, you finally won something.

He’s doing this because he’s not getting a fat NFL contract and the gravy train is coming to an end.

If Tennessee won then why is there a dispute going on now with Nico?

Tennessee sued the NCAA because they believed the NCAA's rules on name, image, and likeness (NIL) for student-athletes were anticompetitive and violated antitrust laws. Specifically, the state argued that the restrictions on NIL deals limited players' ability to benefit from their talent and hurt the market for college athletes. The lawsuit also challenged the NCAA's restrictions on NIL deals being used as recruiting inducements.
shite happens….

It opened Pandora’s box for everyone. We all now have players leaving for more money.
The NCAA is sitting back and laughing…..or shaking their heads..

The negotiations should be on our side for a lack of performance.

Agreed. I don’t feel sorry for him either. He is making more than most people attending the games to watch him play. His dad obviously in his ear or his agents. Sick of the daddy ball stuff. Ruining it for their children trying to play the game.

It did. Can’t deny it. But, it was inevitably going to happen to any school. Question to you, or any opposing fans;… at this time do you view him as a 3 or 4 million dollar player?

Nico Iamaleava signed an initial $8 million NIL deal with Tennessee, but he is now reportedly seeking a new deal worth $4 million per season. This new request comes after the perception that the NIL market value for quarterbacks, especially in the SEC, has increased. Iamaleava's current deal with Tennessee is estimated to be worth around $2.5 million, which is below the perceived market value.
Your program thought he was until you saw him play and he wasn’t the savior worth 8 million bucks. You should be glad to dump him and lick your wounds and apologize to everyone else for what you’ve done with this shite.

Wait, so me as a fan directly paid him because NIL exploded that year and we tried to get in front of the best quarterback recruit? I didn’t pay him anything so why should I have to apologize to the likes of you? Did you see me boasting about the money spent? Get real, dude. As I said prior, if it wasn’t Tennessee, it’d be another school.

Coaches are supposed to be teaching these kids to be men. A man honors his contracts and keeps his word. Id kick his arse to the curb and tell him the world is going to chew his arse up until he learns to be a man.
