Well I could see there Being something to the point of that we aren't likely to be In playoff contention so why lose half your lineman (our line is already not very deep) in a game that doesn't count towards conference record

It's still the best option for artificial surfaces. They haven't figured out an artificial surface that is as safe as regular grass and dirt, unfortunately. Putting real grass and dirt inside a dome would obviously be problematic.
