Honestly, if he weren't as old as he is and I were in the market for a coach, I'd hire him in a second.

There are a few schools who should definitely call him.

In all honesty, and not to be mean, but I think he's losing it upstairs and that has a lot to do with why he hasn't been hired by a new team.

You can see it on TV. He loses his train of thought easily and does some weird things...even for him. But he was always a good person and I wish nothing but the best for him.

Are you saying that Orgeron was abetter candidate? I don't know how many schools may, or may not have, considered or called Miles. neither do you. Not every school publicizes who they are talking to and not every coach publicizes who has called him. I haven't heard of many actual contacts Saban has gotten, but I would be wiling to bet it has been a lot.

OK, we don't know. I'll give you that, but he wasn't hired by anyone with that admittedly impressive resume. I just think that speaks volumes.

Was O a better candidate? Didn't say he was, but change was an absolute necessity. You seem to know what you're watching. I'm guessing the countless "WTF are we doing" moments and the totally stagnant feel to the program at the end would've had you in the same camp if he were your team's coach.

He would still be at LSU if he would have just changed his offense.

I think Ole Miss should definitely give him a look, especially to guide them through the years ahead when they will presumably be dealing with NCAA sanctions. I don't know if he is being considered or what Rebel fans would think of that, but it would not be a bad hire considering everything going on there right now.

But he might be too old, maybe they want to go with a younger upstart to sort of revitalize the program. However, they would not be able to get one of the more desirable upstarts I don't think.

I mean there's no way the keep Luke right? Guy seems like he is in over his head.

I like Coach Miles, classy guy. Some things he did very well as a coach, some not so much.

I would think he would be coaching by now. If another offseason goes bye and he doesn’t land a job it makes you wonder though. Fulmer’s numbers were strong and he stated many timed he wanted to coach. No one hired him.

Valid but I think there might be a general perception that Miles' success had a lot more to with the wealth of recruits in Louisiana who are loyal to LSU than coaching ability.

Recruits left Louisiana in search of greener pastures for years before DiNardo put an emphasis on in-state talent then Saban took it to the next level. Miles recruited talent better than DiNardo and on par with Saban.

Plus Les inherited a pretty damn good team from Saban.

This argument is as hollow as the whole "Barry Switzer won with Jimmy Johnson's players in Dallas". So what if Miles and Switzer won with a team assembled by the previous coach? Could they not have lost with those same players if they didn't know what they were doing? Besides, Les Miles had sustained success long after Saban's last recruiting class left LSU and that 2011 Tiger squad was ultra-legit. It was just their misfortune there was another team that was ultra-legit that year. Lifelong Bama fan but always thought Les didn't get the credit he deserved. Is he Saban? No, but neither is anyone else. I know when he was at LSU, us Bama fans knew it was gonna be a slobber knocker first weekend in November because the Tigers always came to play. Bama was fortunate enough to finally get the upper hand but Miles made them earn it.

Miles is too old.

He would never fit in at Ole Miss.
