should? I dunno about that - you would have three fanbases each with their own opinions I'd think

but I think they probably would whether or not they should

Laugh away Gump.

LSUMatt has a great bead on the BCS formulas and has successfully predicted some pretty crazy things. I actually can't ever remember him being wrong.

He's more credible than any other 'expert' that I've seen, let along a bunch of homers on a message board.

Disclaimer: At this point, I'm not for/against any team playing LSU in the title game if LSU wins out. Just pointing out that LSUMatt has a LOT of credibility.

Apparently they should not. LSU would have had their chance & blew it? Amiwrong?

Oklahoma had their shot & blew it too in Texas Tech game. How can they be deserving?

Uh huh. Any honest LSU fan would admit that they would rather play OU, OSU, or Oregon before playing Alabama again.

I don't know what all of you LSU and Bama fans are babbling about, but if Oklahoma is given a chance to play in the national championship after losing to freaking Texas Tech and home then the BCS is beyond flawed.

This guy might have tons of cred but I doubt he can predict exactly how pollsters will react to various games. If everything goes as planned it's easy to predict. But when you talk about what if LSU loses to OM...no one knows for sure what that would mean.

I really don't think it's FEAR of losing to Bama. I think LSU fans cannot stand the entitled and "god's-gift-to-football" mentality that Bama fans have. LSU fans do not want to have to share the BCS NC spotlight with a team that they already beat. We settled that score on Nov 5th.

2011 and you've finally come to this realization? Better late to the party than never I guess

They would get that chance and yes the bcs is very flawed.

No I've known about it for a while, just reaffirming my beliefs.

Why doesn't the 2nd best team in the nation deserve that shot? Isn't that the point of a championship game?

I love how yall cling to this theory.

A berth to the BCS NCG has and always will be based on the sum body of work you've put together, in relation to the other team's bodies of work.

The "best" team changes from week to week. You're judged based on your body of work.

Yeah I'd be pretty irritated if I was an LSU fan and had to win 13 games to get to the title while a Bama team playing in the same division with a worse schedule got to win 11 games for the same opportunity. It's bullshite.

I happen to agree that Bama is the 2nd best team in the country. But my only problem with a rematch is this:

You keep talking about fair. If LSU wins out, then beats GA in the SEC Championship game, that would mean they had to play a Championship match to earn the right to play Bama on a neutral site for the BCSNCG, correct? Do you think that's fair?

Now, assume Bama wins. At the end of the year, LSU would have one more win than Bama, and would have split with Bama in head to head play, all while playing one game at Bama, and one game in N.O., neither at Tiger Stadium. Do you think it would be fair, then, to crown Bama National Champions over LSU?

Just throwing out some things that I think should be in the discussion.

Did you have a problem with LSU getting a second chance at a NC in 2007 after they blew it at home against Arkansas the last game of the year? My gut is telling me no.
What does that have to do with this year? The situations were completely different and who else was more deserving than LSU and OSU?

yeah all of a sudden it's about the two "best" teams. The two best teams last year were probably bama and auburn but that didn't mean shite. The BCS has nothing to do with matching the two best teams.

You're an idiot. He was speaking about Alabama or oregon playing LSU again.

There is no chance of Texas tech playing Oklahoma again for the national championship.
