It thus holds that more plain cities (e.g. Jacksonville) are more stable during times of social unrest. It depends on the kind of person. I'd prefer to live in Jacksonville over a large, Democratic metropolitan stronghold.

BR and Nashville are much more dangerous than Austin
Just in Texas, Austin might even be the safest large city. Houston, Dallas, Corpus Christi, Lubbock, and Beaumont all have higher crime rates.

Not going to happen. Florida swung more red this past election. We like our property and right to bear arms. Some protests in Tampa and a couple of elected officials in a large city won't change life for the rest of us.

San Fran of the Southwest. Been like that for 15 years and only getting worse. Just a big liberal city that happens to have a University in it.
Of course if you talk to Texass fans they think they are the reason Austin is as big as it is. They are responsible for Austin being the state capital, responsible for the music scene, etc...
