I think your memory might be failing you ! Updyke was initially about equally supported/condemned by a portion of the bama fan base here and elsewhere....granted the majority basically ignored the whole sordid affair {w/o calling out Updyke, I might add}. The tea bagger was overwhelmingly supported by bammers far and near, who pooh-poohed the whole "sexual assault" as either a prank that went too far OR the LSU fan drank too much so it's his fault ! Again, the majority of true bama fans again just ignored it all and VERY,VERY few called out the culprit !
